i thought this was pretty simple. yes.
GT is 18. clemson is 22. louisville is 24.
GT has two ranked teams left to play: #10 uga, #3 FSU
clemson has no ranked teams left to play
louisville has no ranked teams left to play
there is no way anyone jumps over GT if GT beats uga.
and the team that's...
in terms of recruiting... almost all top schools benefit first and foremost from getting the best instate recruits.
my guess is that beating uga every year to generate more instate excitement will help even more than winning the coastal every year.
UNC's problem is the tennessees, socars...
i, for one, like the carolina blue jacket. thanks.
also, UNC hasn't made a FG since a 19 yarder on 10/11. plus, the holder always has the option to go for two if he likes how the two teams have lined up. more likely would be 4 TDs and 4 two-pt conversions.
UNC's defense is statistically atrocious. so, a mistake free football team like dook should be able to put up a bunch of yards and points. that's probably a given.
but UNC will go as far as marquise williams will take us.
UNC wins this game if marquise can replicate his form from clemson...
UNC has to win one more. either dook or ncsu. probably easier to beat ncsu this season. but we've somehow lost two in a row to dook, so a chance for revenge and ending their ACCCG hopes are two real motivating factors.
JT has been absolutely impressive this season. as you all have experienced in the past, the 2nd string QB is usually the fan favorite for many teams. there is no debate for your team this year, so i know you all love him.
early in the season, many UNC fans wanted to see our second string QB...
in that article, it says dook has 15% and GT has 10% to win acc, which would mean dook has 60% chance to win coastal.
GT is done at 6-2. dook has to win the next two. even if a win over wake is 90%, that'd mean that dook has a 67% chance to beat UNC? that seems quite high.
either way, i'm...
Two items here:
1. "a real good QB coming in and starting as a freshman": UNC got a 4* #15 QB (trubisky) in 2013 class knowing he'll be facing a 3 year senior starter (renner) and a two year backup junior (marquise) as competition. we also have a 4* #11 QB (henderson) coming in 2014 knowing...
this is off topic to the initial question but pertinent to the current convo...
i see the calculus requirement as a potential hurdle... what really is that requirement? and more importantly, what really are the other academic hurdles once on campus?
i'm not asking about admissions because i...
great point. this applies to many programs. cutcliffe is well respected and had a highly successful season last year in leading dook to a 6-7. butch the recruiting extraordinaire davis managed three straight seasons of 8-5 before getting fired for the off-field problems. i'm sure there are...
folks,
do me a favor and start a campaign to get rid of PJ. when you're successful, that'd make my day.
seriously,
i think his offense fits the tech fan base to a T. who but a bunch of engineers would love such methodical approach to offense? there's a reason many teams hate to play and prepare...
yeah. renner had a boot on his ankle for part of the week leading up to the VT game. he was a game time decision. fedora says renner will be the starter when he's healthy. we have a bye week before hosting miami on next thursday, so renner is fully expected to start. however, fedora did say that...
so, PJ lost this game but most agreed that he won the game for GT vs. UNC. so... nets out so for the season so far?
i know you guys like TR but maybe PJ needed to have hired foster instead ("...keep your enemies closer").
i know VPI has had lots of success against PJ but they've been on a multi-year downtrend while you guys are playing well. i know i need GT to lose to improve UNC's chances of winning the coastal but i'm not convinced at all with this year's VPI team.
GT wins 24-17.
the best description i've read. on the one hand, you want to praise the guy for being honest and straight-forward and not manipulative. on the other hand, it shouldn't be that hard (e.g., relying on the reporters to do their jobs correctly).
to be clear, i didn't mean that it was a dubious call. all i was saying is that if heck was able to take care of his assignment, the play would've been a difference maker. i don't disagree that attaochu's outstanding play forced heck to hold there... attaochu even thought it was the biggest play...
you may be right. well, what's done is done.
the other thing i forgot to mention was that UNC had a case of missed tackles again in the second half. probably due to defenders getting tired. but at least our coaches put them in the right spots to have a chance of making plays. at the very least...
