A lot of times they play both ways in high school.
I do think there's something to the notion some people have alluded to in terms of heavy blitzing, or otherwise aggressive play. We are different on offense because we recognize the challenges we'd have in recruiting players running...
In general, I think Roof has the kids in the right place. Perhaps we need more emphasis on sound tackling during the Spring, because that's been the biggest problem for us.
This is exactly the point I was trying to make. We are blocking so poorly right now that whether we run a shotgun snap or one under center doesn't matter, and the shotgun might make matters worse. Regrettably, there is no silver bullet to overcome the performance of the line.
The issue isn't numbers, and it isn't scheme. No one is playing us differently on defense this year than they did in previous seasons. This season, for reasons I (and most likely everyone on this board) am not qualified or capable of explaining, the offensive line has simply not been able to...
No one is saying you can't be critical of Thomas, or anyone else for that matter. The issue is that you identified a single throw today. That's the margin of error he is working with right now. That's an impossible standard for anyone to meet.

How you can gripe about recruiting in one breath and in the next say we lucked into Butker makes no damn sense.
Wait. Let me get this straight. Thomas is supposed to be a leader and that's supposed to make the other guys play well? Do I have this right? Because if I do, that's effing absurd.
I can't see Marcus Marshall moving. He's the game breaker Johnson's been looking for at that position. He needs to improve his ball security, but if we get big plays from the B-back, the offense is impossible to stop.
