  1. Johnson

Baylor has lost their last two bowl games. If you give a team more than a week to prepare they can be stopped.
  2. Johnson

I agree with all of this, but there are also cultural challenges we face here. If you wanna play in front of 80,000 people, Tech sure ain't the place for you.
  3. So, who starts next year...

I am hopeful that the addition of Philpott and Howell and Johnson's promise to improve pass protection will enable a stronger - though perhaps less frequent - vertical passing game. That, combined with more experience at the skill positions, will hopefully yield significant improvement for the...
  4. Johnson

This is absurd, and it perpetuates the meathead position that says doing anything different is a gimmick. It's no different than the A's or Rays in baseball, who are competing against teams with financial advantages they can't overcome allocating significant funds to free agents. Instead...
  5. Is it Possible

That's a cool cliché, but it's silly. There is no world in which this isn't luck.
  6. Is it Possible

Not to be trite, but your beliefs are wrong. Performance in close games is largely a function of luck. The best teams aren't magically better in close games; they just play fewer of them.
  7. Is it Possible

I think it's hard to segregate this season from others, and when we consider some of the things he can't control and look in the broader picture, I think it makes at least some sense that many (including me) think he did okay, all things considered. This isn't intended to mean he was perfect...
  8. Richt's gone

Richt won a lot of games against us, but they were generally competitive. My fear is that they get a coach who maximizes their intrinsic advantages against us and the games become blowouts. There is no reason for us to be within three touchdowns of them. That program can be Alabama with...
  9. UGA Postgame

Apparently Uga is going shopping for a coach.
  10. Player Praise Thread

    KeShun Freeman is my dude.
  11. Offseason

Hope he can promise better tackling, too.
  12. UGA Postgame

I think that the numbers are so skewed seems to confirm it. And, yes, every team is dependent upon luck, but to varying degrees.
  13. Justin Thomas

Thomas is the least of our problems. I wish he had 15 more years of eligibility left.
  14. UGA Postgame

Six losses by on possession. That's horribly unlucky.
  15. Curiosity about Erin Joe

I think it's actually the opposite. Byerly lost a year to transfer, and the NCAA has declined such requests before. Joe never transferred, and he missed more than 75% of a season.
  16. ugag predictions ??

From your lips to God's ears.
  17. ugag predictions ??

Just score one more point than they do. That'd be enough for me.
  18. CPJ Press Conference #HateWeek

See, this is valuable insight that I would have never noticed. Very interesting analysis.
  19. CPJ Press Conference #HateWeek

I agree with this. The only thing I'd add is that there is a press conference of his from after the 2010 UGA game on Youtube, and he looked exhausted. These guys are the most extreme type A personalities out there, but at some point three hours of sleep does more harm than good.
  20. Glenw; I wish:

Isn't there a mathematical element to hoops recruiting, too? There are 114 4* or better basketball players in 2016, and 369 4* or better football players in 2016, both according to Rivals. If the best teams sign roughly two or three players in basketball, that means the 40th rated class can...
