  1. 3 PF = 3 losses to VT

Nah. Last night's was obviously right around 1:00 to play, but Attaochu's was with about 3:00 left in the third quarter, and Taylor's was with around 9:00 left in the fourth quarter. That was still a bulls--- call, though. Bigger issue with Attaochu's and Taylor's was that they were both on...
  2. Has there ever been a season like this?

I'm right there with you. It's strange - and more liberating than I want it to be - to have no real interest either way in next week's game. Watch them go out the next week and beat the hell out of UGA, just to torment us with what might have been.
  3. Has there ever been a season like this?

Yeah, I don't recall anyone saying otherwise.
  4. Has there ever been a season like this?

It would be the gambler's fallacy to believe that it would even up next year, but it's not an unreasonable expectation. What's so frustrating is that with even a mediocre Johnson offense, we'd have probably won 8 games, maybe 7, by now.
  5. 3 PF = 3 losses to VT

The worst of the bunch is still the 2008 one. 2011 and 2015 I could at least understand. 2008 was against a QB who was out of the pocket, acting as a runner, who ducked his head. Excuse me. I'm going to go tie a plastic bag over my head.
  6. Plug and Play Offense...

    I do.
  7. VT Postgame

The most frustrating aspect of this (to me) is that we've lost five games by a combined 26 points (and Duke was essentially a six point loss, too). With any kind of competence of offense (we've no blown a 21 point lead and a 14 point lead this year), we could be 9-1 or 8-2. The defense has...
  8. Mike sewak

I want to be clear that I'm not advocating anyone lose his job, because I'm not qualified to make that decision. However, it would be surprising to me to see the entire staff return as is next year. I don't know if that means Sewak is the fall guy - and I don't know that he deserves to be...
  9. Coaches Turning the Page?

I don't think anyone in this line of business looks ahead to next year. It's simply not the culture, particularly with everyone having such tenuous job security. It's also entirely unfair to the players to bag it for the rest of this year hoping to make it up next season.
  10. GT Freshmen Retention Rate - 97%

Interesting how the approach has changed. It seemed like it used to be a badge of honor when the retention rate was far lower.
  11. Depth Chart for VT

Johnson said Snoddy was good to go. What's up with him?
  12. Michael Summers Has Left the Team

I assume this is what Joey Weaver was talking about last week.
  13. GT (-5) vs. VT

Agreed that we've been unlucky in one possession games, but that's the gambler's fallacy. Hope you're right, though I'd be comfortable beating them by four touchdowns.
  14. GT (-5) vs. VT

    Is Vegas high?
  15. Ted Roof

Yep. This is the biggest challenge, because they're the rarest commodity in the game. I think the solution could be to allocate an additional scholarship or two to that position, recognizing that you might be more exposed elsewhere but accepting that as the price doing business as that would...
  16. If you knew then what we know now

I'd say around 7-5. We've lost four one possession games. In general I think that tends to even out over time.
  17. Ted Roof

The defense has not been Alabama's, but historically we haven't needed them to be. Before this year, I went into every game thinking that if we could force four punts, we'd win. We have lost three times this year where we've forced more than four punts - 5 versus Notre Dame, 7 versus Duke...
  18. I missed this? Hunt status?

In his defense, Hunt wasn't responsible for the hype he got. He has not been the dominant defensive tackle we expected, but that doesn't make him useless, either. Plus, as I understand it, it wasn't even his GPA that got him in trouble; it was the progress toward graduation. Let's hope he...
  19. Playoff Rankings

I am not sure what Baylor has done to warrant such a lofty ranking. I find the contempt with which they view the nonconference schedule to be extremely unattractive. If you don't want to play big nonconference games in September, you shouldn't be allowed to play them in January.
  20. one guy?

    I think Smelter.
