Since we're on the recruiting talk. Here's my facts
1. Any 4 or 5 star player that is a senior in high school has been approached by an agent. Agents "guide" them to which school to choose. If they are an All American Under Armor player, they have had multiple agents and colleges (illegally) contacting them. Heck, my buddy from the Marines, has a kind playing in NC. He is just 16 and Sophomore year in High School. The kid is 6' 4", throws 40 yards with no effort and run a 4.4. He has already had 3 sports agents, UNC, Duke, UGA, Miami, FSU and UVA all send "scouts" down to talk to him. He isn't even rated. But, as a Freshman he led his team to the state championship and so far, undefeated this year. Point is, the illegal stuff is happening. Anyone that says otherwise is a moron. GT plays by the rules, which sometimes puts them at a disadvantage. No shock to hear UGA contacted them. Was shocked about Duke, though.
2. Money...Cars....Girls...etc: I also know a certain school that gives cars to recruits that sign with them. Another friend of mine has an uncle serving time for fraud. He worked at the DMV and illegally took cars that boosters bought and washed it away, so that the school had no hands in it. Money? Houses? Look at USC (which should of been given the death penalty, like SMU) giving Reggie Bush's mom a house and a job (money). Girls, Oklahoma State.. Need I say more?
3. GT doesn't have the recruiting force that some "football factories" do. UGA, Bama, Clemson, Michigan, etc; All have big recruitment programs. GT, does not. Again.. disadvantage to us.
With all of this... You would expect GT to end up with 2 and 3 star type players. People want to know why GT doesn't sign these high ranked recruits. Well, there ya go. It's all about money. Has nothing to do with education.
