I know a lot of Tech fans are disappointed in this recruiting class, especially considering the hype of CGC once he got on board. But think about it this way: in TWELVE DAYS, Geoff Collins was able to recruit:
Ahmarean Brown (tied for our highest recruit with offers from Bama)
Kenan Johnson (flipped from UNCheat)
Sylvain Yondjouen (flipped from Arizona)
Dylan Deveney (flipped from Rutgers)

Not only that, but he was able to prevent Jamious Griffin from signing with NCState and begin recruiting him here. I think come February we will have 5-6 more guys committed to get our class into the high forties/low thirties. I trust the process and I trust Geoff.
Where are these a lot of Tech fans??

Is there a consolidated recap somewhere? I got stuck working all damn day and couldn’t do what I normally do on signing day which is slam my door shut & watch the events. I’ve seen bits & pieces and overall it looked like a solid class which is all you could expect in the middle of a transition. Any surprising news?

Same ol same ol. Tech plays by the rules, doesn't gray shirt and we end up with the numerical average that keeps the total number of scholarships on the team at NCAA limits. Other teams recruit twice as many players as NCAA allows and somehow get a magic number of injuries, dropouts and transfers to come in under the wire in the nick of time. Who said the universe is random? It clearly warps around the fabric of football factories.
That is Tech no matter who is the coach

Signed 17 players, including grad transfers. We lost a couple of players at the end. The number of stars for the recruits kind of depends on the service you look at. We got almost all of our top targets. There are some top targets still unsigned. Most people would say a pretty good day, and a very good day for a coaching transition.
We should still be trying to build out the class through February.

LOL. Believe it or not, a few so called GT "fans" are grasping for straws trying to find a way to knock on CGC. I mean, go to the recruiting forum and look through the thread of our QB recruits (it's not hard...we only have 2). There's an example of one of our fans trying to create a narrative already.

It's both amusing and sad.

You mean salty CPJ fans. No rational fan should have any issues with Collins at this point.

Yeah, I don't get it. CGC has been ultra positive and selling GT every chance he gets...yet some of our fans have a problem with his "salesmen" tactics?!

CPJ was pretty cranky with the media and was easy to offer up the things GT didn't have yet he gets a pass?

I don't see why some are having such a hard time accepting our new coach...the guy hasn't even coached a game yet. I'm bracing myself for after our first loss (which will inevitably happen). I bet GT Swarm will turn into bizaro world when that happens.

Given that the whole staff turned over and the recruits don't even know what the offense and defense will look like and who their position coaches will be, I think this is great. Tells me they signed to attend GT, not just to play football. Maybe a dose of factory types would be welcomed, but still, there is some satisfaction in knowing you are doing things the right way.

You also have to give CPJ and the old staff a lot of credit. They could have easily half a$$ed it knowing they probably weren't returning. They could have also been bitter turned off recruits.

From what I've seen, all of them worked hard on the recruiting trail to keep our commits. Says a lot about CPJ and his staff.

We are acting like paul got fired. He chose to retire and unintentionally ditch his staff.

But. I am glad they did exactly as you say.

I’m gonna assume it’s a minority associated with these message boards cause for the most part people feeling Collins. He’s rejuvenated the program as far as with excitement.

IEEE, I think a greyshirt means the coach tells you to enroll and you start attending practices but without a scholarship. If one becomes available later and the coach thinks you're worthy, you get one.

I don't like the chances of the guy who is 2500% committed to passing Tech math courses.
Don't think grey / gray shirt can practice.
