We’re not boosters! It might come down to us to save the program! Get your $1’s ready
About me not being a booster...

I won’t tell because I’ll be too drunk to remember.About me not being a booster...
New article out in AJC just published on its website a few minutes ago, written by someone named Alan Judd:
https://www.ajc.com/sports/college/...ls-basketball-program/WgRPzHAC0wpCeJGpsGYrYL/
Couldn't get past the first few paragraphs, but yep, hit piece. Is it a hit piece? He's the guy who did the hit piece when the Ron Bell stuff broke.
That's why I want to know if it would have been okay if Labarrie had paid for it out of his official visit recruiting budget.GT didn't pay for it... A booster (Jack) did...
Is it a hit piece? He's the guy who did the hit piece when the Ron Bell stuff broke.
Refused to read this crap. Well i read 2 paragraphs enough to see it's a hit piece. Guess I will stop reading the ajc entirely, no big loss.Is it a hit piece? He's the guy who did the hit piece when the Ron Bell stuff broke.
FWIW, imo this would be the worst time to change coaches.
We would owe Pastner a large buyout.
We just spent our wad on football so we would likely have to go cheap again.
Would be difficult to attract anyone worth hiring until the infractions shake out and we see what the NCAA decides to do.
Better to let Pastner have the next 2 years and prove on and off the court whether he is the right guy. If he is, great, if he isn't then he is replaced in 2 years, the buyout is lower, it is easier to attract someone as we are likely to be able to both pay more and any prospective coaches will know if there are any repercussions from the current infractions case.
Meh, didn’t seem like a hit piece to me. There was nothing new in it. Wasn’t Fake News, just re-news.
Did they? Or is that what we are"looking for"?So the AJC made it seem like the world is ending when it's really not
It's already been reported that Pastner has been cleared by both GT and the NCAA, so the bylaw stated above will not apply. Pastner isn't even mentioned in the notice of allegations.
People really need to chill a little in regards to Pastner. We just emptied our bank account to hire a FB coach and his staff. We aren't going to be changing the BB coach for a couple of years until we can replenish a little.
Frankly, Pastner's record his first 3 years is not out of line with any other coach at GT over their first 3 years. Year 4 is where the wheat is separated from the chaff, let's see where we are next spring and then have this discussion.
Just for comparison sake,
Hewitt 48-44, 22-26, 1 NCAA, 1 NIT, 0 20+ win seasons, 17-13 best record (yr 1)
Cremins 41-42, 13-29 0 NCAA, 1 NIT, 0 20+ win seasons, 18-11 best record (yr 3)
Pastner 48-53, 20-34, 0 NCAA, 1 NIT, 1 20+ win season, 21-13 best record (yr 1)
Gregory 43-52, 18-36, 0 NCAA, 0 NIT, 0 20+ win season, 16-15 best record (yr 2)
He was on my 'hell no' list when he was hired, but we'll see how next season goes. His 68.2% FR and SO usage rate this year was the highest of any school in the ACC. I want to see if this program can perform better next year with a more experienced squad.
