It’s been like that in the upper north ever since I’ve had my tickets. On our side of the stands, out of five possible registers, only three were open. During halftime, I timed them for a while and the average time it took for someone to order, pay, and get their food was 1 minute 45 seconds. That means that during a 20 minute halftime, they were on a pace to serve 14 people. I know the people in the concession stands are volunteers and are doing their best. However, I think serious consideration should be given in the future to outsourcing the food and beverage operations to the professionals.

I sit in lower West. It took forever to get a Coke. At least 20 minutes. And the game monitors weren’t working. Add to that that vendors didn’t or wouldn’t honor STH discounts.

Last week, I went to Neyland for a Vols game. In. Out. Super fast. Dedicated lines. Centralized kitchens. Specialized labor.

We TEACH this stuff at Tech and other stadiums hire our grads but we still just let nonprofits try to do it. Give the whole operation to Aramark and pay them on an efficiency metric. At least this year, they updated the prices to 2019 prices.

I just don't understand why are fans seems to be affected by the sun more than any fanbase I've ever seen. They act like if they are outside in the sun for 3 hours they are legit gonna die. It's just so strange

Why is it strange? What fanbase does not complain about noon kickoffs and September heat. Seriously, name one.

As far as the changes this year:

The team ran out slightly after the wreck and cheerleaders instead of directly behind as in years past.
Nothing to complain about.

Money down instead of thirrrrd down. It’s still the 3rd down of the series no matter what the PA guy says. Stand up and yell regardless.
Nothing to complain about.

The band played in some key moments on third down, and there was piped in music in key moments as well. Everyone’s taste is different so the band/music selection won’t please everyone. My only suggestion was to not play “this is how we do it” after we give up a long pass play to our 1 yard line.
Complain if you will. Music choice is subjective.

Whiteout early in the season. Emails were sent out, it was printed on the tickets, and most fans these days have friends or social media that will let them know that before they get dressed before the first home game. Unless you live under a rock, you knew it was a whiteout. Also, nobody had to try to find a white jacket or hoodie this year, so.....
Nothing to complain about.

Sure everyone is entitled to their own opinion, that’s what makes for good discussions. But I’m more than a little tired of all the complaining that is going on over petty stuff on this board.

More football talk would be great, not just the constant back and forth on all the same old topics of uniform colors and new vs old regime etc etc. Because it’s starting to get hard to find some real x’s and o’s talk here.

I think there are some great posters on this board, ex athletes especially. The insight some of you guys provide is great. I realize this will go nowhere, but i feel like it’s worth running up the flagpole. Let’s please not turn this board into a stingtalk.

This is a great board but I feel like everyone needs to take a step back and remember that we are all pulling on the same side of the rope. Gold, white, blue, Tobias, Lucas, JG, upper east, lower west, sidewalk fan, alum, whatever. We all come to this board for the same reason. Cause we love Tech. Ok I’m done. Let er rip......
My vote for post of the week. Well said! Go Jackets!

They all complain about it. But half of the stadium doesn't leave at halftime like ours

Not trying to pick a fight Gold1, but depending on the score, there are many stadiums that empty after halftime. Especially the student sections.

I know you are young and the heat is not a big deal. And it was less of a big deal when I was in my 20s and 30s. So yes, us older folks suffer much more than you do. And I will admit I have left after the Budweiser song a couple of times when Tech was getting spanked because it was just not worth it to sit in the misery of a 90+ degree day. And there was a cold beer calling my name.

Great point!

A white out early in the season makes sense. There was a Miami game years back that was a whiteout. It was freezing and the wind blew. I ended up putting a white t shirt over my winter coat, because who has a white parka? I recall it was not a very successful "whiteout".

My row mates are mid 60s. They can’t handle the heat. LSU typically empties at the half.

Sigh. Nice try, @The Doddfather. I was excited to be back in Bobby Dodd and excited for a win. Everything else is road noise. And yes, to those of you saying it’s fine to have an opinion - you’re right. Opinions are like *******s - everyone has one. My issue with the board as of late is that opinions turn into attacks and are presented as fact and regurgitated ad nauseum and in every thread. I miss the true game discussion and our mutual love for our team being the thing that binds us. It’s just gotten exhausting around here lately.
Yes exactly and its the same people who b**** about the same stuff over and over in multiple threads.

Game day experience was below average. We can’t control heat, but it seemed to me like the game moved way too slow. Lots of official breaks that were quite long. The “no huddle but wait at the line of scrimmage” makes the game go slower for some reason. Energy level was low and actual product was kinda boring.

DID anyone see BUZZ at usf?

I know he didn't run out and do hus "lovable flip on his axx at mid field and then run into the goal posts"?
I think that is stupid but the kids all around are loving it.
One can hope.

Second question
Didnt get to the walk up because we got a free artist sketch of wife and me. Guy is hired by gtaa.

Anyway it looks like they have changed that format. It looks like the band and players come up yellow jacket alley together.

Because the average age of our fanbase is about 150
Get off your ageist BS. I am 75 and have been a season ticket holder since 1967. I have NEVER left a game because of the weather ---- whether it's been hot as hell, cold as hell, or wet as hell. For that matter, I have never left a game for ANY reason. There were probably more younger people who left the game early yesterday than older people. Even the fratty bois, who didn't bother to get there till the 2nd quarter were gone by the 3rd quarter.

Did any of yall go to the 404 tailgate? I liked it, needed some music, more chairs and tv’s though imo. The Bourbon smoked wings were great!

The older generation (boomers) are tough as nails compared to the rest of us.....in general. It always amazes me how some of the really, really old GT fans fight ATL traffic etc to come to every game and stick it out in whatever weather throws at them, when that generation is gone there will never be another like it imo.
