So good that it was better than 141 of PJs 143 games hereI think we are all excited that Coach Pat had his first good game as a play caller at the P5 level and hope he has more.

Key deserves plenty of blame for last years debacle as well. It’s not all on Coach Pat. Maybe not having all 5 star players with 5 star backups was a difficult transition for him. What is more likely? That Brent Key was good enough to coach Nick Saban's O-line but not ours? Or that the transition was more difficult than you think? Also, maybe cut out the name calling. I think you need to sit a few plays out.
Do you really want to turn this into a comparison of CPJs offenses and CDPs offenses? It’s not going to go well.So good that it was better than 141 of PJs 143 games here
Now we are talking! If we are going to be 75+ play team we must sustain drives and keep the chains moving. Temple regressed in this area from yr 1 to 2 under CDP from ~43% to 37%. Maybe this is contributed to @ibeattetris stat of more drives.

So based on these numbers this is how i will grade CDP
An ideal season for us under CDP and bowl gm appearance will be
60%+ pass comp %
240avg+ passing yds/gm
150yds avg rushing
40% 3rd down conversion
Under 12ints
30ppg
In comparison, Louisville is at 58% completion percentage for the season and some similar offensive numbers.I was going to make an entire thread on CDP yr 1 to 2 jump but i guess we can keep this going
Offense thru 4 game
Comp: 55%
Pass yds: 239yds
Rush yds: 214yds
3rd down 44%

In comparison, Louisville is at 58% completion percentage for the season and some similar offensive numbers.
ACC completion percentages:
1. Trevor Lawrence: 72%
2. Sam Howell: 68%
...
10. James Blackmon: 58%
(not in the top 10, but there’s reason to think Sims can move into the 60% territory)
Passing yards:
1. Kenny Pickett: 1389
2. Chase Brice (Duke): 1263
...
6. Jeff Sims: 944
Passer rating:
1. Trevor Lawrence: 183.4
2. Sam Howell: 163
3. Devin Leary (NCST): 152
...
9. D’Eriq King (Miami): 133.5
10. Jeff Sims: 121.5
Yards per punt:
1. Pressley Harvin: 48yds/punt. (OK, not an offensive stat, but I love seeing us #1 in something)
Rushing stats—no individual players in top 10, but we have multiple great backs.
In yards/game, we’re #5 in the ACC. In Points/game, we’re #12:

Until Friday night, that has been the problem --- good yards but few points on the board. Let's hope that whatever DP did Friday night, and in preparing for Friday night, he continues to do. I had no use for the man at all until Friday night game. Now I have a lot of hope.UNC is averaging over 500 yards per game...that is pretty impressive. We are 5th (I think I am reading this right) in total yards, but tied for 12th in points. Therein lies the problem an offense that is not efficient due to turnovers. Fix that and a lot of things will be better. We are averaging 74 plays a game that is a lot. Much to my surprise we are not in last place in turnovers but not that far either from Duke who is last. Clemson, Virginia Tech, and Notre Dame are all averaging over 40 points a game and Carolina is not that far off. What we have here every Saturday is a track meet masquerading as a football game.
Well, having Sims and Gibbs are two good reasons for hope, that and what seems to be a steadily improving offensive line. Defense...what's that?Until Friday night, that has been the problem --- good yards but few points on the board. The coach who shall not be named had decent talent too, and he couldn't win any and fortunately was dumped in favor of O'Leary.Well, having Sims and Gibbs are two good reasons for hope, that and what seems to be a steadily improving offensive line. Defense...what's that?
You sound like an expert yourself maybe they should hire you! You sound like you know more than the OLine coach that came from Alabama I’m sold on you!Yeah, it’s shocking that coaches might say things to defend themselves when they are obviously doing a poor job.
No they just give you 2 outliers to base your crazy theory on.Because those two players and that team completely disprove the notion that it is impossible for an OL to transition to a new offense in a short period of time.
Yeah, I’m not sure the concept that guys can learn fast if taught well is all that crazy. Again, Nebraska went from a triple option to a west coast offense and ran it with a 3 star guy recruited to play in an option offense. Their two most recent recruiting classes were ranked 39th and 41st. They managed to actually improve on offense having several 400+ and 500+ yard games and averaging more points per game than they did the year before. How did they accomplish such an impossible feat? They weren’t a great team by any means but they had no problem with their monumental transition on offense. No they just give you 2 outliers to base your crazy theory on.

I don't want to talk about him. It took me a year of watching Coach O'Leary to realize that is what a real coach looks like. The coach who shall not be named had decent talent too, and he couldn't win any and fortunately was dumped in favor of O'Leary.
When is it you’re talking about, when Osborne stepped down? And they never ran a 3O based offense under Osborne either.Yeah, I’m not sure the concept that guys can learn fast if taught well is all that crazy. When Solich was fired. He also ran an option offense. When is it you’re talking about, when Osborne stepped down? And they never ran a 3O based offense under Osborne either.
