Most teams will be about the same. UNC absolutely blows out of conference for some reason. NC State was overrated last year anyways. They are generally a well coached defense so that can keep them in games and possible pull some upsets.

Watson or not, Clemson is the cream of the crop in the conference right now. An absolutely loaded defense. They can go undefeated the Bama way of just not turning the ball over and letting your defense win. Pitt may be the only team taking a significant step back. Losing Canada hurt.

id be ok with a 12-3 start for the acc (including nd). take away the fsu errors and im your aunt. heh.

take away the errors and they lose 10-7 which is respectable. nc state lost an away game. bama fsu was bama fsu. only stinker was nc. given that the o's are alway behind the d's im not worried about the close scores on some of the games at this point.

when fsu had their fg blocked and run back i was sure they would mention gt doing it for a td. did they? i couldnt hear.

given what bul0vas did to us at the last second. im glad he is getting splinters.

Yeah, I didn't see it either. I only watched the fist half, but he looked erratic throwing the ball. Didn't seem as strong either.

First game, so tough to say, but they didn't exactly scare me all that much.
You should have seen the 2nd half. Jackson is seriously good. One of my cycling friends is a VT grad and he is ecstatic today.

My only caveat to his happiness is that the WV defense was out of position on a lot of plays last night and their tackling was really bad at times. It will be a few weeks before we get a better read on him as VT plays Delaware, ECU (lost to James Madison), and ODU in the next three weeks. BTW, Marshall had a long TD run in the ECU game.

Remember NC State is one of the few teams with a good returning qb, so I still think they can reach 8-4. I'll agree with you on UNC. But again my point is every upset has been setup to look worse and every rebuilding year like UNC's will be held up as an "ACC sucks" example.

Betcha FSU falls out of the top ten now, whereas a Bama loss would've only dropped them to #5

I'm not sure FSU falls from the top 5. BAMA looks good. Not sure who else hangs with them.
If FSU falls, it's more from losing Francois than losing the game.

Kentucky's problem has always been they cannot beat Georgia, Tennessee, Florida, and South Carolina. When you start with four losses and throw in a couple more SEC teams and Louisville it's tough to get any momentum.
Kentucky fans only care about basketball so it doesn't bother them as much as it would other fans if they have a losing season. Similar situation at Indiana.

I think there will be a logjam in the ACC Coastal Division with Georgia Tech,Miami and Virginia Tech all having 9-3 records. I think GT will win the Coastal by having the best record in the ACC of the three teams.

Given that we play Clemson while VPISU plays BC (?) and Miami will be playing an QB-less FSU, they both hold a serious advantage over us in the Coastal race. I'd be shocked to be going to Charlotte given that we have an automatic L compared to those two.

I'm not so sure man. Did you watch FSU play defense on Saturday? Miami will be lucky to score 17 on those guys. FSU will look better on offense (even without Francois) once they are playing someone other than Alabama.

...and VT doesn't scare me from what I watched last night.

VPI's QB was playing his first college game. He made mistakes at times, but he also made some incredible throws. Only time will tell if he's Drew Brees or Jay Cutler
