  1. Tech v duh U postgame!

I would not sell Wells short (no pun intended) on this one. Coach already knows what Wells has shown he can consistently do in practice this late in the season.
  2. Tech v duh U postgame!

I believe Coach Paul Johnson always prefers to receive the second half opening kickoff because he likes to make halftime adjustments to the blocking schemes based on what he observed from the opponent’s defense in the first half. It almost always works, too. This is why I agree with this strategy.
  3. Old Tech memorabilia

Wow! Some real cool memorabilia being shown here.
  4. Upcharge?

I believe it’s simply because nearly all (i.e., 99.5%) of the former college football players—now TV college football “analysts”— never played in CPJ’s spread option offense. So they don’t understand it to the level desired. Except, of course, Roddy Jones. He’s the exceptional 0.5%.
  5. Upcharge?

It simply might have been a called predetermined give to the B-back. If so, CPJ made the right chess move.
  6. Georgia Tech Bowl Projections

Looks like Tech’s bowl destination would depend a lot on the outcome of their game against UVA next Saturday.
  7. Why did Juanyeh Thomas fall down ...

OK, thanks! Soooo, I guess if the ball had happened to bounce all the way back into the end zone and Juanyeh had happened to pick up the ball there, it would have been ruled a touchdown.
  8. Wesley Wells deserves his own thread

I wouldn’t sell Wesley Wells short on kicking off in the future. The sky’s the limit on this young true freshman man. It’s amazing how some folks jump to negative conclusions about any player when such player has three more years to improve ...
  9. Why did Juanyeh Thomas fall down ...

The punt was muffed at the 10. Even if Juanyeh had scooped the ball up inside the goal line, it still would not have counted as a touchdown anyway, according to the rule. Or is that right?? I’m a bit confused in exactly where the ball should be spotted in this scenario. Did Juanyeh pick up the...
  10. Article New Georgia Tech Secures Bowl Eligibility With Win Over Miami, Mark Richt

That is entirely possible! Would love a rematch against the Vols.
  11. Brant and Jalen

Folks, it’s taken ‘ol Brant a few games to get comfortable playing MLB under Coach Nate Woody’s defensive system, after playing the previous three seasons with a different system under the previous DC.
  12. Wesley Wells deserves his own thread

Yup. The true freshman kicker from Lumpkin County — and a WALK-ON, to boot —no pun intended — has absolutely secured the vital place-kicking job at the Georgia Institute of Technology. For the remaining games this year, and for the next three full years!! Folks. As he gets older and stronger...
  13. Why did Juanyeh Thomas fall down ...

Thanks, guys! I was not aware of that rule! Now I know why Juanyeh did what he did after securing the ball. He apparently knew the rule!
  14. Why did Juanyeh Thomas fall down ...

after he scooped up Miami’s fumbled punt near the goal line? All Juanyeh had to do was waltz into the end zone for an easy touchdown! I just couldn’t believe he quickly fell — or “slid down” — after securing the ball. He wasn’t touched. Can anyone explain this one play? Our team ended up...
  15. Tech v duh U postgame!

    How SWEET it is!
  16. Who Should Start at QB for Miami?

    For Miami? Probably Perry.
  17. Need to mention #73, Zach Quinney ...

I agree Hansen and Quinney have been the big surprises on the OL this year. Both of these guys certainly have been gaining some valuable game experience lately. With Cooper back at C and Lee back to his customary OT spot (the other tackle position opposite Quinney), things are definitely...
  18. Need to mention #73, Zach Quinney ...

Quinney, a redshirt freshman, has been doing a fine job as a starting offensive tackle over the past several games. He performed especially well against VT last week. He’s 6-6 and 276, and comes from Savannah Christian Prep in Savannah, Georgia. Quinney was named to the Georgia all-state team...
  19. Geoff Collins at temple

Collins also served a brief one-year stint as Director of Player Personnel at GT in 2006. (This is an addition to my original post, and I neglected to include it.)
