  1. Potential Head Coach Hires

Well, I certainly hope you’re right! However, one thing keeps popping up inside my mind. Suppose our next GT football coach is a guy that runs a different type of offense, and it doesn’t work after two or three years. Would Georgia Tech then pull a “Georgia Southern” and hire a spread option...
  2. Potential Head Coach Hires

Well, gee, guys. I find all the scuttlebutt interesting and entertaining, but I have no idea who would bee the “best fit” as Georgia Tech’s next head football coach. I don’t envy Athletic Director Todd Stansbury’s task. It is a monumental one.
  3. For those who think The Hill can change the curriculum

Does Georgia Tech currently have the classroom space to take on the students for a larger curriculum? And how much would it cost the Institute to hire the additional instructors for the new majors? I suspect these might be constraining factors. I don’t really know.
  4. Potential Head Coach Hires

Regarding Satterfield, I just don’t know if he (and his wife and family) are willing to move to Atlanta away from the mountain lifestyle they currently enjoy in Boone, North Carolina. Would the challenge of taking over the GT job along with the extra $$ pay be enough for him to make this...
  5. Potential Head Coach Hires

Ran a brief Google search on Tony Elliott, Co-offensive Coordinator at Clemson, and this one seems to provide some good background: https://www.greenvilleonline.com/story/sports/college/clemson/2018/11/29/clemsons-tony-elliott-reportedly-candidate-georgia-tech/2146715002/ Elliott may also...
  6. Potential Head Coach Hires

I don’t know much about Appalachian State Head Coach Scott Satterfield, so I decided to conduct a Google search in an attempt to learn more about him. I came across this article about him currently being considered for the North Carolina job. It was published in the Greensboro News & Record...
  7. Coach Paul Johnson Appreciation Thread

Yes, this is correct. It shows his love and respect for the Institute.
  8. Coach Paul Johnson Appreciation Thread

One more thing I’d like to say, if I may. It is going to be extremely difficult for the next head football coach at Georgia Tech to match Coach Paul Johnson’s accomplishments.
  9. Coach Paul Johnson Appreciation Thread

It took me the better part of the day today and this evening, for me to get over the shock of hearing about Coach Johnson’s decision. He truly has been one of a kind, and a successful one at doing what he did for his chosen line of work. I will definitely miss him. I wish him nothing but all...
  10. One year of Nate Woody. What do we think?

As a sidebar here in this discussion about Defensive Coach Nate Woody, I’m really interested in seeing how well he can recruit for “his type of defensive players” to Georgia Tech. This will be Coach Woody’s first shot at recruiting for GT, and the quality of his work in this area should tell us...
  11. One year of Nate Woody. What do we think?

Nothing much has changed. Gained more turnovers, but otherwise no real improvements. Tackling and pursuit angles, especially by the DBs, was the worst I’ve ever seen in a long time. I do not expect to see much, if any change, for the better next year.
  12. Georgia Tech Bowl Projections

At this point today (Monday), it looks like either the Military or the Independence for Georgia Tech. We will know which one when the bowl announcements are made on Sunday.
  13. Senior Appreciation Thank You Brad Stewart

We Georgia Tech fans are really going to miss Brad over the next several years at the WR position. This is the true measure of a single player and how valuable he has been to the team.
  14. Bowl game (what bowl and who do you want)

Got to agree with ‘ol bwelbo above.
  15. Bowl game (what bowl and who do you want)

Well, at least Wake whipped Duke, so our team will jump ahead of Duke in the bowl pickins.’ Look on the bright side ...?
  16. UGA Postgame Discussion

Our team was simply outmanned by a much faster, stronger, and more talented team. Hopefully we’ll end the season on a positive note with a bowl win.
  17. Wesley Wells deserves his own thread

    Congratulations to the kid.
  19. Georgia Tech Bowl Projections

Stansbury is on the BCS Committee this year, but I doubt he can influence which bowl his Jackets can go to. I hope he can, but I don’t know how much pull he has just because he’s on the BCS Committee.
  20. Wesley Wells deserves his own thread

This young man from up in Lumpkin County is a super-smart student, and came to Georgia Tech for the education. And he’s a leader, too — he was selected captain on his high school football team. They just don’t come any better, folks. Plus, as a true freshman, he’s already a star on his Georgia...
