I think I'd prefer that. With our team, at our own park, I like our odds in a slugfest. What I don't want is one of Auburn's star pitchers to return and shut us down like in the UNC game.

I'm pretty sure if the team up for elimination keeps winning, you can get a day 4 without a weather delay. After 2 days, one team is eliminated, one team is 2-0, and two teams are 1-1. Day 3 has the 1-1's play each other, eliminating another. The 2-1 team then has to beat the 2-0 team twice...

Lville is done until the tournament. TTU and OkSt play tonight, and either losing would put us VERY close. If we win a game or two more, and things fall our way, we could sneak up to a 7 in the RPI. Anything to help the cause...

I agree with the importance of this game. From what all the experts say, tournament performance plays a role in seeding. Starting Amos would indicate we're taking every game seriously. The committee doesn't care if this game matters; a wins a win, and a loss is a loss.

Agreed. Knowledge of which game matters is the reward for being the top seed. I'd take that over 2 days rest. But still, an awful format. The one benefit to the extra games isn't for the high seeds, it's for the middle seeds. For instance, Duke might be a bubble team. If they lost to ND, that...

So I guess we root for Duke to beat ND? Then our meaningful game is Friday. The most rest for whoever needs it.

Still, I'd suggest we throw CT against the game one winner.

Virginia is playing better now than earlier this season. My preference would be Clemson and ND.

Good points, and I tend to agree. 4-8 are still being worked out, Arkansas having the inside track. I wonder how secure Lville is. If they lose again today to FSU, and fail to make any noise in the tournament, could they fall to 9 or 10? Lots of good teams fighting for those last few spots...

I don't get the impression we're competing against Arkansas for a spot. While we're Bubble national seed, Arkansas is probably locked in.
