Everyone has been concerned about X on Fridays (and our record on game 1s). I think our batters just struggle with Friday night aces. X pitched well, the defense made plays, and our offense took what they gave us. Team win. Proud of our boys. Take the series tomorrow!

The RPI gap between 1 and 3 is huge compared to 3 and 10. I know our opponents won't be high RPI teams from here on out, but we could sneak up into quite the National Seed resume if things fall our way.

Does anyone know if they avoid regular season rematches in regionals? I know they won't put teams from the same conference together, but we've already played Auburn.

This is a really good point. I think RPI is going to play a lot into our postseason positioning. And because of that, I think winning this game, and getting a top 4 seed in the ACC tourney are our biggest chances at keeping a high RPI.

I don't think it has anything to do with balls, I think it comes from poker.

Fridays have been a little weird though. While X didn't look good against ND, he didn't play against UNC, and was coming back from an injury against BC. I'm not looking to make excuses, but he may still be settling back in.

The pressure will certainly be on. I'm looking at UNC's remaining ACC games. They close the season with NCSU, but besides that they have as easy a schedule as we do. Can't afford to lose a series, but a sweep would be HUGE. Every conference game from here on out matters.
