Collins is all about perception, and image, and brand. If he sold recruits on the "New GT" I can definitely see him telling Pat "we're transitioning AWAY from the option, run something else."
Note: this is not meant to be ***ting on CGC. It's just a thought.
Chiming I'm with another endorsement. It's a good listen. Episodes are short, about 30 min, so you can get a daily update while doing something else in the morning.
As others have said, if you want more Tech content, you have to support stuff like this. And it's actually good.
My first Saturday in campus as a freshman was ND 2006, College GameDay. Absolutely bananas and my love for the jackets was cemented before I ever saw them play a snap. It was electric.
I'm just glad we're finally opening the checkbook. Would you rather fix the problem, or would you prefer we spend less on staff to be more fair to CPJ?
That's the thing: there are pieces that could contribute to a turnaround. RB situation took a hit, but we have other talent. Seems like O line pieces could be added to shore up some holes.
It just depends on who is taking over the decision-making.
As of right now, we have four more chances for a win.
Even if we're underdogs in each one, that doesn't mean we'll be 0-4. I'm going to enjoy the games.
If I was a betting man, I'd put UVA and Miami as winnable; maybe 50/50. BC and VT as underdogs but not crazy if we pulled them off; maybe 35/65. ND as not likely, uGA as very unlikely.
5 wins is a very possible outcome where I'd be happy with progress.
I like the defensive start Browlow mentioned about our first 4 opponents all being held to under 4 yards per rush.
I know the dukies have a star at RB, but his stats seem skewed by a monster game against Charlotte in week 1. If we can keep them under 4 ypc I like our odds.
I mean, we've spent the last two seasons jumping offsides and missing 30 yard field goals. So...yeah. Not doing that is by definition an improvement.
I understand this team is not where a lot of fans want us to be. But the counter argument is that were one 2-pt conversion away from beating...
Watching SVP after the game, they actually made an error and showed the chart as if Miami had won. It listed GT as a 13% chance. They laughed it off, and when it was corrected to a UVA win, our chances had jumped to 16%.
So...at least according to whatever formula they're using, UVA winning...
Even if that stat accounts for the opponent, I'd challenge the validity of that based on who they've played.
He's talented but I'm not putting him in the top 2 in conference, let alone the nation.
Sustaining drives is one thing, finishing with a TD is another.
I like what our line was able to do against a high-end d line, but we're going to need to find the end zone to keep up with the tar holes.
It's also better we get DJ in game 3 of his career. Of course he's talented and well coached, but maybe we can take advantage of his inexperience a little.
I think Yates earned the start against Clemson. Kid is well spoken, likeable, and a leader.
I hope Simms recovers soon and we get a good battle, but I'm happy with our guys.
