So, if we're able to squeak out a win on Thursday, and Miami and Pitt both drop their Thursday night games, we will have locked up the 2-seed?
(yes, I realize it's likely a long shot, but I want to know when I can celebrate.)
So step 1: just win baby.
Step 2: root for NCSU and Clemson to keep FSU down a peg. If we don't stay ahead of Pitt, sneaking in to the 4-seed is fine by me.
Strength of schedule will never be equal across the board. All you can do is beat the teams you play.
Do I wish Pitt had to play Lville? Sure. But I wish we didn't collapse in the 9th against them too. We had our chance. Now let's just win the rest of them.
RPI will probably work itself out. I want L'ville to beat everybody at this point. That's a series win we could hang our hat on when seeds are being determined.
That was the definition of a poorly called game. What a way to end one heck of a season.
I love our guys. Two teams that played well, with about a 15 pt swing thanks to ***"refereeing. That sucked.
Not like it's the gospel or anything, but the Athletic runs an article on bubble watch. They suggested we should hope for Clemson to avoid the bad loss.
Any honestly, maybe not. Maybe they win all the games they never got to play. But you should have to actually play them to get any real credit for it.
If my opinion mattered, I'd have voted Hamilton 1, Pastner 2.
I think to a certain extent, when you're up by as many as we were (especially Saturday) you're likely to leave a pitcher in a bit longer. Let him take his lumps, scratch some outs, and save the pen. It starts to ding the stat line a bit.
CDH would have had a quicker hook were it a one run game.
