Why do we stay with Russell Athletic?

Two local high school sailors got full or partial scholarships to Ivy schools to sail on their teams. One is hiding in political science and pre-law at Harvard. The other is doubling in Russian and international business at Barnard. These private schools have lots of unexpected hiding places.

Hmm, clearly we need a tie-breaker on this. I fully acknowledge I could be wrong in my thinking. Where's the experts when you need them?

Agree though that other real blue bloods would bring bigger pub to UA.

There are many one sport deals actually, but you generally don't hear about them because usually the large universities get the headlines when they sign large, multi-sport deals.

**Did you know that Russel is not the complete sponsor for GT athletics? We use Mizuno for Volleyball and Nike for shoes)**

Good examples are found when schools generally have one huge sport. For example, Under Armour paid a lot of money to outfit the St. John's basketball team, but Rawlings it the sponsor for their baseball team.

Other examples include: Virginia (Nike school but National Champion baseball team wears Rawlings), Duke (Rawlings for baseball)

Rawlings list of sponsorships (you'll notice a lot of Nike, UA, Adidas schools in there): http://rawlings.com/advisors/colleges/

Mizuno list of sponsorships (again, more teams that have deals with other companies: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Mizuno_sponsorships)

*Also, a lot of teams are sponsored in one sport and then purchase jerseys from that same sponsor but are not sponsored in that sport. Nike schools tend to do this a lot

A full-page ad by Russell in the latest "The Buzz" magazine, depicting casual wear for the fan.....3 blue tops, one gray top, and one blue and white top. The only ONLY gold in the picture is in the GT logos on the shirts. As far as I am concerned, that is unacceptable. Our primary colors are gold and white, dammit, but blue and white with a little gold.

So, just in case you thought UA walked on water, check out the reaction to Curry's new sneaks ...

That's comedy. Now, the high tops and other colorways (shoe industry term :sneaky:) aren't bad and these will probably still be popular with the kids. I know my 8yo loves his UA's. But man these all-white lows are hospital-shoe ugly.
