Lol. How about the last 4 years? How long does Johnson ride on what he did with Gailey’s players? What’s the direction of our program? Les Miles won a national championship at LSU. At some point that didn’t matter because the program was going in the wrong direction.
Last I checked, Gailey didn't recruit the 14 or 16 teams. And, if you REALLY believe that GT is comparable to LSU, then I think maybe you are who I was talking about in my post about "you don't know how good you have it"

Yes. Then you fire the person(s) making the poor decisions. Wanna play with the big boys? Act like a big boy. And open your wallet like a big boy.

Please, there was no accountability when the other AD’s were there. It’s a boys club. Putting money in the GTAA would be like throwing a hotdog down a highway.

It is a truth that has always been and always will be. I am a GT fan because of the underdog role. I love fighting against the big boys with more resources. But I’ve never seen the fan base settle for where we are. We fired Gailey who never missed a bowl game for Christ’s sake. He would have never been fired in today’s environment. You guys would be loving him.
If you haven’t seen the fan base “settle” in your words you have not been a fan very long. Life hasn’t always been good on The Flats. There’s been intermittent seasons where it was immensely awesome, but more often than not it’s season after season of either wondering what could have been or worse.

I get tired of the “well at least we graduate this amount of players and have this degree and that degree”

Maybe it’s because I didn’t go to Tech and just a sidewalk fan, or because I’m young but I’m not a fan of Tech for academics. I’m a fan of football. I’m super stoked that most of Tech’s students get a degree and graduate early, life is much more than football. But damnnnn son, can we at least look competitive consistently? Win some big games? It’s just frustrating when we lose or get embarrassed people revert to academics and such to highlight.

Yea, I guess it’s the Tech fan’s version of the argument about whether size matters or not. We feel inferior, so we brag about our car.

So, understand that I'm a UVa fan here, so I come with a little different perspective, but:

What makes you people think you are entitled to anything more than slam average? Is there something special in the GT water where logic and basics go out the water and everybody is above average in everything?

If you took a school not named Georgia Tech, and gave it the exact same situation as Georgia Tech, how good would you EXPECT them to be?

Pros: Cool City, Fertile Recruiting Area, Storied History (several generations ago).
Cons: Cruddy Academic situation, unattractive majors, CLEAR 2nd level team in your own state, reputation as a boring/lame place to go to school, marginal facilities, marginal salary for coaching and recruiting

Essentially, you're Vanderbilt, or you're UVa.

So why do you believe that you're not? Why do you believe that "9 wins a year at a minimum" is a reasonable thing to say?

I PUT FORTH: you have been spoiled rotten with good coaches, going back to Bobby Ross. This is not because of anything your school particularly has to offer. You have just made a series of good hires. This has led you to believe that there is something at GT that there is not, and my strong belief is that with one crappy hire, you could EASILY be where UVA or Vanderbilt has been for the last 20 years.

You act like finishing .500 in the ACC is some given, and that going to a bowl is no accomplishment. I believe you are wrong, and I almost wish you would fire Johnson, and hire some scrub, just so you could see how unspecial your program really is.

You hear people talk about a businesses "fundamentals", and how sometimes you can outperform fundamentals, but usually not. GT's fundamentals are nothing special, and you should be GRATEFUL to be outperforming them for as long as you have.

Yeah... just the type of post I would expect from you. Not sure why one single supposed tech fan would like your post. Fortunately for you there are a lot of other Johnson fans as opposed to tech fans on this site.

“Who cares you guys are on the downward spiral. It’s where you should be.” That is the Johnson supporters mantra. Do your thing buddy.

Most people are not going to donate to mediocrity.
. Only real fans give to programs that they love even when things are not going well because they want to support the recruiting and reaources of our student athletes. Comments like this show you are just one of those fair weather fans. Lots of teams are getting killed by other teams today. Teams like FSU Michigan auburn Tennessee and I bet USC tonight. I guess if you were at those schools you would not give to them either. Please be critical all you want but if you dont give you are not a real fan. Resources do matter no matter who the coaches are

Tell me why James Graham was not the QB the second half the game was over but in his usual stubborn way CPJ did not play him .This is the main thing I have against CPJ I believe you could have tommy Frazier on the bench and CPJ would not play him because he’s so stubborm

Because he is still learning the system. Don't confuse talent with being ready to play.

You lost credibility when you said in previous posts that Ross won the championship with Curry’s players. You obviously don’t know anything about football.

UT fans continually give to their program and their program continually sucks. As long as the donations flow in there is no reason to fix the problems.

Thanks for finding this. In order to even be in the top 25 we would need over $4M per year. A lot of head coaches with experience will not want to take the difficult path that Georgia Tech forces due to academics . It will greatly limit our coaching search. Just like calculus hinders our recruiting.

Not only does the tough academic requirements hinder our recruiting, it will also hinder any coaching search. People who are thinking, just get a new coach and life will be great again, live in a world of rainbows and unicorns.

God I hope none of the coaches come to this board to guard the attractiveness of this job. The would run for the hills. Lol. Some “fan” base
