Follow. The. Money. Welcome to the new world of college football “free agency”. Good players (e.g., Gibbs, Dominick), whether recruited or developed, will get poached and move up from mediocre, second-tier teams, while benchwarmers (no offense intended) from top tier teams will drop down to the second-tier teams.
Oh it’ll completely destroy the sport eventually. Right now it’s happening in tiers. Eventually it’ll be happening granularly between the top programs until it all settles, and the disparities between individual programs will be such that the average person will be able to predict the outcome of any given game with over 90% accuracy. And Vegas will lose a source of income. After all, how big is the market for betting on predictable things?

It's not like we are losing guys off the bench. Something is amiss. Troubling.
Some players go into the portal because they can’t get playing time. Others go in because they can get playing time almost anywhere. Domineck is the latter.
The timing is weird because he’ll miss Spring practice—I don’t think he can enroll somewhere else this late. But, while he was a 3* high school player, he’s at least a high 4* transfer.

So we take the 3 stars, train them up, and if they pan out then the factory schools come and recruit them. Losing interest in college football by the week.
This may be common place for us and other schools in similar situations. I really hope this is just more growing pains. Interesting speculation that there are more to follow. Maybe a few of these assistants and coordinators we brought in are whipping some stuff into shape and a few guys aren’t liking the change. Fingers crossed!

Laughable. He is transferring because he has graduated and needs a place to go to grad school. Highly unlikely it will be power 5. Hopefully, somewhere, but no guarantees.

Question? Wasn't Jordan a pass rush specialist DE for us? I'm wondering if we're not transitioning from a D&D/situational player defense to an every down type player defense. Just a thought I've had, seems like the big time programs do the latter but I don't know that for sure.

Domineck had the most sacks on the team. He had the most tackles on the DL. Ivey had the most solo tackles on the DL, but Domineck was second. He started most of the games this season, and played in nearly all if not all.
He wasn’t starting at the end of the season.
most sacks on the team doesn’t mean a whole lot when that is 3.5 on the whole season and he did get benched by the end of the season.

he was brought in for a different scheme so credit to him for changing his body and technique to play a different position. he was a “starter” with a diminishing role and didn’t produce at an area of the team that was a weak point. hate to see guys leave but at this point if you’re not a bonafide stud, when you transfer you’ve probably lost your job or realize you’re not gonna win the job for the fall

Remember when the mods told me I didn't know what I was talking about when I said that a lot of older Johnson players wouldn't p**** on Collins if he was on fire?

Chickens coming home to roost

(Please note I censored the dirty word so I stay out of trouble)
Well…do you believe this from inside information you may have or are you making this statement from personal feelings about Collins?
