Collins has somewhat created this impression himself. When he shows up 10-15 minutes late to post game press conferences after a bad loss and says he is late because because the guys are disappointed and he wanted to make sure they know he loves them, it creates an impression that he might be coddling them a bit much. Hopefully he actually needed 15 more minutes to absolutely lay into their as*** about the crap performance they just gave, but I guess we will never know.

Someone mentioned O'Leary best coach since Dodd, I happen to believe Bobby Ross was the best coach since Dodd, so good we could not keep him. The only blemish on his stay IMO was what happened with his player rebellion and his involvement there is based IMO in his recruiting those particular kids. But I don't know what all really happened with that incident.

well we kinda owe any human being the respect to not make up false narratives just because we don’t like them. there has not been any indication that’s what’s going on and we have more than enough factual evidence and things to criticize for us to be scraping the barrel this hard for complaints.

I remember Dustin. He was a genuinely nice guy. GOL confiscated the bowl gifts from about 30 players at the Gator Bowl in 98 for being 10 minutes early to dinner (O’Leary time is 20 minutes early). Those bags contained the warmups for game day and gifts from the bowl. No dinner, no watch, no clothes. If you have pictures from that day, the guys wearing blue warmups were effected. He gave their stuff to his family and friends.

Now that I never knew, but from what I do know of GOL, it's not shocking.

Given his record...no one has to "make up anything" and I did not say he is trying to be friends and if he was, he did a damn poor job of it the last two games when the team got blown out 100-0.

It's really a simple concept.

My guess is that the transfer portal will “pick up” after the spring practices/spring semester. If you’re going into the portal now, you’re going in at the beginning of Spring practice or just before, and that’s not a great sign.
It’s not a great sign afterwards, either, but you’d expect players learning they are behind the eight ball would put their names in the portal then.

The portal puts an interesting dynamic in recruiting. Is it worth a one year transfer or do you go for a kid with high potential and longer eligibility . I can see a one year if you have a definite thin bench at one position and a guaranteed starter e.g. Cochran. GC has one year to get wins so he needs immediate help. I would take a guaranteed DT for sure even if just a year.

What exactly does that mean? Why would a guy wait until just before spring practice to enter the portal? The coaches just got around to giving him the bad news?
