Damnit they looked so good and dark under the lights, and the numbers were crystal clear. That leads me to believe that the guys up in the booth calling the games will be okay with them therefore we won't change them. That's what I'm hoping anyway. I'll let you borrow my new range-finder for the home games if you can't see the numbers ;)
I just saw some photos from the game, and I can understand your take on the unis now. They do look pretty good in those shots, although I still think outlining the numbers would look better. But from the stands, they didn't show up like that at all and, as I said, looked drab.

I was very surprised. I've seen us roll them out without the outline before and it was awful. Not only could the crowd not make out the numbers but the ESPN crew calling the game couldn't either so it was a big problem. They did those perfectly last night, those were clear as day. If the announcers can see them clearly then the fans should be able to. I'm not going to throw a fit if they outline the numbers but I hope they don't. That gold jersey was the best thing Adidas has done for us in over a year. If they outline the numbers and put their nerdy stinger stripes on the sleeves it will ruin the classic look.

Damn bro I thought you were mid-thirties? You didn't waste much time cranking em out I see. I'm getting a ton of pressure to have kids and I just can't budge. Absolutely hate kids. I'm a grown kid myself and that's plenty. I love my nephew and nieces but I can only stomach them in 20 minute intervals. lmao
Haaaaaa. I feel that way about my own. Lol.
I too am a grown *** kid!

If by "classic look," you mean the way almost all uniforms looked in the early to mid 20th century (no outlines, little if any trim), then what you like makes sense. But to me the "classic look" for Tech is the way our uniforms looked from the 50's onward, and those uniforms had outlined numbers, and stripes. Those were the best looking uniforms Tech has ever worn IMO.

Defense played a vanilla 5 base sets, we're not going to show anything on film. Also, the days of the music being catered to your crowd are over and it's never coming back. Only the old people want to hear Foghat, Lynyrd Skynard, Alabama, and the Eagles. And even when the older crowd is enjoying it they're damn sure not getting crunk and getting others into it. I'm not saying that's right or wrong, but the young crowd dictates everything with the music because they actually get a little hype going; swaying and chanting and what not.

Lucky for me I like all genres. I can smoke a bowl and get down on some Clapton and I can smoke a spliff and get turnt up on some Vica Versa by Pastor Troy. Why am I so blessed?

I guess thats the difference here. I loved the music last night. The players did too. I believe its similar to what they had been seeing in practice.

It was a lot of fun. I think we’re going to get better, but the defense was not that impressive at all.

This has been discussed a lot in the past...the argument that the 3O hurt our defense because we practiced against it all the time. I generally disagreed with this argument because scout teams run the opposing team’s offense, but I always thought it did hurt our offseason and fall camp prep when we were facing our O. Looks like I’m not alone in this belief...

Not trying to stir the pot here about the old regime. In fact I thoroughly enjoyed the last ten years. I’m just excited about the prospect of having a good defense again at some point. If the players feel better about it then that’s a good sign!

And the 4 horsemen here don't say a damn thing to our players when they say the exact same things we've already been telling them for months. Lol.

In about 5 minutes 1 of them will call our own players Paul haters and claim they're "throwing shade" at Paul and taking cheap shots and drinking the kool aid when all they're doing along with the GT Swarm board is lay out the facts. Lmao. It's quite an anomaly.

I agree that it sucked, but it MIGHT have been slightly better than last year.

So here's the generational thing coming up. And please don't take this as criticism because I didn't love the music, either. But my 15 year old daughter LOVED the music and was asking if I thought they'd post the playlist anywhere (she's a cheerleader at her HS and yes we recruit her school and she has a bunch of friends on the football team and says that's exactly the kind of thing the kids love and that the ones she knows who have visited GT lately love the atmosphere). She also thinks the beehive hexagonal pattern looks cool. I promise I'm not trying to stir things up, just pointing out that we probably aren't the target market for the musical choices and the ones who are the target market LOVE it!

Generally speaking, I couldn't care less what the choice of music is; what I didn't like was that it was played virtually continuously and drowned out the band when they were playing.

Seriously, and you know how much I like gold, in person, those were drab, lifeless uniforms.

You know what? I actually agree that the uniforms didn't really do anything for me. I didn't dislike them. They just didn't wow me at all in any way. But all I care about is that the players and recruits love them so I don't need to think they look any particular way. I was very grateful, however, that they were not the urine-color we had quite a few years back (not with CPJ, I think maybe it was even back to BL).

Again, we aren't the target market (I thought the band sounded really good when we could hear them). I mentioned to my daughter at one point that I thought the band sounded good. Her response: "I like the other music better." She's definitely my barometer for what kids like. And I'm perfectly content for our coaches to take every opportunity to market to recruits and their own players first and foremost.

I can see the numbers, and I'm glad they were white rather than blue, but I definitely think they need to be outlined. IMO they would just look sharper with the outlines. But again, I just thought they looked drab. Leaving aside the fact that I detest blue, the all blue unis in the bowl game were drab too.....just no life to them.
I could see the white numbers not sure if it was because the sun wasn't out i know last year I couldn't see them.
