1. Thank you Coach for the CPJ tribute.
2. Our skill guys are really fast.
3. Not worried about the running game because even in the CPJ era, we did not run the base offense in the Spring game.
4. It will be interesting when Oliver is back in the fall as Krivonte as well.
5. Just a fun night, wish I could be there.
6. Might just be a very good year coming up for us. CPJ did not leave a bare cupboard like some other past Tech coaches.

I love Coach Collins and the enthusiasm that has carried over to the players. I would like to point something out that is reflected in the tribute to Coach Johnson by Coach Collins on the first play. Coach Johnson loves Georgia Tech and did a great job for us. Not only that, he had the sense to do the classy thing and leave of his own accord when it was time. As was noted in number 6, he did not leave a bare cupboard nor did Coach Gailey for that matter. Coaching transitions at Tech the last few times have been for the most part seamless compared to the past. I am cautiously optimistic that recruiting is improving and we will be more competitive soon. However, the loss of our two best linemen does not bode well for next year. Next man up!

Who was the last Tech coach to leave the cupboard bare? Curry?

I don't know that Coach Curry left it bare so much as there was a major change in culture and philosophy with Coach Ross and the seniors did not like him. The transition from Coach Lewis to Coach O'Leary was not smooth either but can't say that the cupboard was completely bare. In both instances, the depth on both lines was not good so in that sense the cupboard was missing some pieces for sure. All in all, I think Coach Collins will have a smoother transition and some tools to work with but improvement in recruiting linemen more geared to this offense and defense is critical.

Generally speaking, I couldn't care less what the choice of music is; what I didn't like was that it was played virtually continuously and drowned out the band when they were playing.

I think what you describe (virtually constant music) was a function of the Spring Game being somewhat of a trumped up practice for the fans to attend. From what I've read elsewhere, the constant music and use of a DJ has been a staple of practice this Spring. It's meant to keep the juice flowing.

I think game day experience will be different this Fall.

Yeah, you are probably right, but why have the band there at all if the piped in music drowns them out.

The really absurd thing last night, and I spoke to a couple of band members who totally agreed with me, is that the band members were given blue shirts to wear. Blue shirts for the White and Gold game??? Who comes up with these stupid ideas?

Those blue shirts made the white & gold lettering spelling out ATL really pop. 1st 2000 students received them and they looked great.

Great idea for a student giveaway. Perfectly executed.

I don't care what popped out. It was the White and Gold game. The band and students should have been given white or gold shirts, no matter what lettering appeared on them. STUPID marketing decision......which, of course, is nothing new for Tech marketing.

I heard the band play Mo Bamba last night. Also, don't you want them there as students?
I couldn't hear a thing the band played, other than the National Anthem, the Alma Mater, and Ramblin' Wreck Song a couple of times. I certainly never heard "Mo Bamba". And yes, of course, I want them there as students, and they want to be there. But if they're going to be there and playing, then let them be heard.

I bet the students loved the shirts, making them a great marketing decision, which the GTAA has been doing a lot of lately in football.

Like the white helmets on this shade of gold. Don't think gold helmets would work. The "three stripe" thing has really caught on hasn't it? The numbers contrast nicely with the gold. If the kids like them, then I like them but I do not care for the light yellow gold look. Maybe we can wear the gold helmets with the white jerseys. Personally, I don't like the blue jerseys or the blue pants that we wore in the bowl game. Burn em.
