Am looking at a broader picture here... he came to work with Roof, they had a relationship from Auburn, (we want to be a big time program but with small time pay), has Pelton sensed Roof might leave in a couple of years when his kids are done?? he could certainly double his money ..... and he is Pelton looking out for himself now.
This is a business and loyality be damned...we need to pony up BOBINSKI.....and for the folks here who say let him go we can hire someone better...uh they will make the same salary demands............. all the groundwork for recruiting will be lost. and this is the one position that will be crucial to GT long term success on defense

1. No.

2 No it won't, he is just one coach and it's not like he is CAM....CAM is the one we can't afford to lose. Like I have said before Pelton is a good coach and person but replacing him isn't impossible.

I defer to you Eric but I think their might be something to number one...... and I meant the work Pelton had done in recruiting... building relationships with kids.
do you know why we haven't heard about the raises for the asst. coaches.....??

I know Ted, there is nothing to number 1. He is here for the long haul.

Pelton has help build us some in roads in Alabama, we can pick up there.

Staff is getting raises sometime this Spring/Early Summer...Still won't be making factory money and when it comes down to it if we get in a bidding war we are going to lose.

I too defer to Eric, but continuity and cohesion of the coaching staff is just vital to success, on the field, off the field, with the kids, with each other, with the staff, in recruiting.

I see CMP as an integral part of this, especially as well as he did in the chicken salad department last year. I want to see MBob pony up and keep him.

Eric- Don't want to derail topic too much, but since you mention Roof being here for the long haul...do you know how he feels about the TO? As in, if he were a successor to CPJ (hopefully CPJ is here for a very long time obviously), do you think he would keep the TO and bring in/promote one of CPJ's disciples into an official OC role?

We don't have Bammers ability to call the bag man and hand him a bag of cash but we should be able to be competitive in our own respect. I can understand Pelton wanting a leadership position upgrade but to move laterally to a dumpster fire program (they may have the name but recent events indicate otherwise) if we were in the ballpark on cash would be telling. If this was a promotion to DC, then money may not even be an issue but damn. He's going to stare up some other DC's butt for a bit more $$?? He knows what he's got in Roof, CPJ, GT. I'd think that would count for something.

I personally evaluated a similar position recently and turned it down for that very fact. Both companies are equally stable, but I know what I have now. The interview dancing painted a rosy picture and was very enticing (in addition to shedding current problems) but in the end was my new Boss going to be better, same or worse than my current one and were the new problems going to be likewise?
