We're running out of time we're going to need to anoint somebody soon. It can't be as hard as finding a starting TE in our offense. After 9 seasons we still can't find a TE.

Look guys they statement was made that he has he best ball security. I like MJ as much as the rest of y'all. I was just pointing out that not be the case. He had multiple bobbles in the VT game that could have been costly. I don't root (or try not to) for any one single player. I think they all need a chance as the are all GT SA's. I just hope ours are better than the team that they are playing. Some of y'all have agendas and need to chill a bit.

Agree, some are getting defensive and reading into things that aren't even there. Just take what people are saying with a grain of salt if you don't agree, but don't try to jump down people throat because they don't see eye to eye with you.

I like Jordan and think he will start week 1 and prob most of season. I just dont think you can say he is definitively best ball security and no one else has a chance when his 2 prior starts he fumbled alot. Basically no one knows and has an opinion and your acting like you got facts. I just wouldnt count everyone else out personally

Imo, the biggest factor to better ball security is a working knowledge of the plays, muscle memory within the plays (especially when they break down or don't go to plan) and exchange chemistry (all three: snap, mesh, pitch) that only comes with reps. Then there's the "loaf of bread" ball security that afflicts some guys and not others and the "I can scramble out of any situation" affliction that comes with some guys and not others. All this taken into account, I feel very safe in my thinking that MJ has the others beat in ball security.

Does anyone know how many times Nesbitt fumbled his first year? We did ok that year with him only learning the system that year. I agree MJ is ahead, but to say WAY ahead is what I don't get when we haven't seen the other guys play enough. I don't think anyone is bad talking MJ or anything like that. None of us have proof of who is the best at certain things, it's just all assumptions. I understand some really like MJ on here, but that shouldn't cloud our vision and start saying he's this or that when we aren't at the practices, now if it's your opinion that's fine, but some are acting as if they completely know 100 percent.

Also, we need to keep in mind not all fumbles are the fault of the qb, especially ones that result from poor qb/center exchange or poor qb/bback mesh. Most of that is lack of reps between the players. Hmmm... there goes that word again (reps). Heck, even on pitches gone awry, that can easily be attributed to an Aback in the wrong spot.

MJ was being criticized for over-caution by many after the VT game, especially on the (non)pitch. That doesn't sound like a guy being reckless with the ball to me.

I don't understand why some feel so inclined to argue against opinions. All opinions on most every subject in this forum is made upon a very limited set of real info.

I don't pretend to know as much as any of our coaches and I don't think anyone here does. A lot of people have strong opinions of our team regarding multiple facets of it anyway. My opinions are subject to change. If you have a very strong objection to an opinion you probably have a bias that prevents you from seeing other viewpoints.

I didn't like what I saw in the spring game regarding ball security with, runs, pitches, and throws. All of the QBs, MJ included, can and should improve this facet of their game. But I saw a lot needing improvements in that game. And I'm not saying any of our guys are incompetent with ball security.

At this point I just feel much more comfortable with MJ in THIS facet and honestly with pre snap reads, audibles, and in play decision making. Subject to change.

On a positive note CPJ says he has 4Qbs that he can call a successful game with. 2 of which may have higher ceilings than anyone he has yet had under center. High praise indeed.

On a lot if those, MJ was not being cautious, he was just running the play call. There was no option to pitch.

When he did, it was fo big gains, which makes sense with the focus on the interior.

The thing I like about MJ is his ability to run up the middle, if you get him and Mills going, then the big plays on the outside should be big and many.
