if I recall correctly, a turnover is worth something like 4 points, so it really wasn't as bad a performance by the defense as we might think, as the turnovers contibuted to the offense as well.

The second one was an absolute killer for the Cards. But two turnovers or more against a triple option team that limits possessions will just about get you beat every time.

It is hard to believe that a Van Gorder defense would look so unprepared and undisciplined in tackling, assignments etc. Makes me wonder if the way they lost to FSU carried over but actually this was a complete game for the most part by the Jackets. Offensive line was totally dominant. TaQuon was a magician with the ball and the perimeter blocking was outstanding. Giving up 30 points to such an explosive offense with really great receivers is not as bad as it looks. Kicking was good and we played with fire and determination. I am pleasantly surprised but it is October when the option starts churning as the leaves are turning. Did anyone see any adjustments by Van Gorder at half time? I thought they were playing the outside linebackers wider but may be wrong. Actually, it probably did not matter when you are getting blocked like that the schemes will not matter.

I told my wife early in the third Q that Louisville must have made an adjustment because CPJ was counter attacking with BB trap plays and killling the D up the middle for a spell. Other than that I did not detect any real adjustments. They certainly did not adjust for Tobias as he continued the QB execution domination.

Pornstache man tried everything he knew and Tech through Taquan had an answer for every change he attempted. On one of the early TDs he had everybody inside the tackles, Taquan checked out to the quick toss. PJ commented on how well he read his checked and got the O into the right call all night long

For all the option haters...when it’s done right this is the result. They were in sync tonight. Unstoppable!

D got to the QB a lot but kept overrunning him. Still maddening on the short pass and :30 drill. Like the new kicker.

Still smiling for Juanyeh getting his TD and the comments about Oliver “whoa, they have another one of those guys?”

ESPN tv coverage stunk tonight in my opinion. Very little replays, and announcers fixated on everything other than our game (and not just in 4th qtr)

Yes, Tobias was doing it like he used to in Warner Robins.

Louisville really had no idea how to defend our offense. It was a bit shocking how easy it was. Combine that with the fact that we weren’t putting the ball on the ground and we weren’t getting bad penalties and you get 66 points. I know Louisville isn’t great but if we can execute like that the rest of the year, then my prediction that we win 4-5 games and miss another bowl game will likely thankfully be wrong.

Also happy for TaQuon. He has taken a lot of heat from many including myself at times. He played great tonight.

Johnson took the high road. But i would have loved if after the game he had said " Not bad for a 20th century offense".

Camera caught CPJ stealing a quick laugh with DMo. Then he turned back towards the field and the sour game face instantly returned. Lol.

Is it me, or does Tobias have an uncanny knack for slithering past the LOS and into the 2nd level?

Anree was unstoppable all night. That is the Anree I envisioned four years ago sitting in HS bleachers watching him destroy a 5 star OL prospect.

Sucks for Vicious, but defense may have found their LBs, and Charlie Thomas played a good game. CNW put a little more in the playbook this week. Had DBs flying from all over the place.

Speaking of finally finding the right guy: Hello Wesley Wells. GT may have found our FG kicker.

From post-game pressers:
Coach Paul Johnson said:
"They tried to play a lot of fronts, thought they might. The last time we played them, they never kinda... second half they were more consistent. But in the first half, they played split tough look, regular 3-4, triple stack, and eight man front. They played all that and TaQuon did a great job of getting in the right play."
Coach Bobby Petrino said:
"Yea, we made every call we had in the tank. We had the, bringing the inside linebackers, we tried to run two guys on pressure, we emptied everything that we had as far as the gameplan went and every call we had. But obviously it didn't work."
