Idk if this is true but someone left a comment on one of the ajc articles saying 3 were kicked off the team today, and 1 was suspended? Did anyone hear this?

That info was posted by a usually objective mutt fan. I told him that he is better than that. He obviously didn't mention the two Georgia swimmers who are in deep doo doo in Rio for fabricating a robbery story. I guess they learned that kind of stuff in Athens.

Right, he said about that, iirc. But, we'll have 20 available as of today, 7 unused and 13 seniors. We should have more than that by nsd.

Then someone asked that's it? And he said, well I don't know the exact numbers but it won't be 25 or 30.

Most important thing he said today to me is that he hasn't seen a problem with ball security or option pitches. Last year spacing was a huge problem with all the rookies. If (still a big if) we get the wide speed right and BBack is much better...

For me, that was an exciting presser. "Way way better at that position" (BB). Holy cow. It doesn't ever get more positive from CPJ than that. Never underestimate the importance of "body shots" in boxing or flexbone offense.

Fresh legs in the BB position is hard to handle when the talent is equal. Laskey and Days showed that in 2014. Our BBacks are going to be fun to watch.

This practice note from above was encouraging to me (especially following comments that D and O are taking turns winning for the day)

"Play of the Day:
A live one-minute drill capped Thursday's practice, with Georgia Tech's offense charged with moving the ball from its own territory into scoring position and the Yellow Jackets' defense challenged to maintain a two-point lead. A strong defensive effort during the period was highlighted by redshirt-freshman linebacker David Curry intercepting a pass to end one series. The errant pass was forced by a strong pass rush from the Yellow Jackets' defensive front."

I don't think we've ever had a camp where CPJ wasn't noticeably irritable after more than a couple practices. This year, he has seemed basically positive after every one. Am I wrong on this?

Friends, I'm thinking we may be on to a special season this year. Let's get it started already.

Part of his happy demeanor could just be in relation to the difference from last year. May not be an accurate predictor of Ws but it is certainly a positive sign.
