Agree. We always have attrition and I assume most other programs do as well. Don't be surprised.......if it rains next year. There, I'll go out on a limb and call it. Remember, if it rains anytime at all next year, you heard it here first.

And I'll stand by what I said, the premises of this thread is bulls**t. ALL programs have attrition, it's nothing new but wholesale losses? Hardly. Hell we didn't see wholesale attrition after the '15 season now did we?

...if you start to see some of our very young talented players transfer out. Especially this off season. Nobody seems excited and nobody seems to want to be out there. Jay Jones and Lucas Johnson are too good to ride the bench. Trust me, I don't want to see them go, but nobody wants to be a punching bag. Nothing is going to change around here for another 3-4 years.
I hate seeing guys transfer but I’ve yet to see one transfer that actually bettered there playing time or make us regret they transferred. I figured when MM went to JMU he would be getting 20 carries a game and be a stud but he’s getting about as many carries in the FCS as he was behind DM here. Also the fact that DM got kicked off the team, MM could’ve gotten 20 carries a game here this year if he could beat KB out.

Some of the most important lessons we learned at Tech were how to successfully deal with pain, failure and disappointment. Think of GT football as an annual continuing education course...

LOL...you can "get out" but you can't "get away". Once the shaft finds you, you can run. But you can't hide. Being a GT FB fan, like you say, is our annual reminder of the GT experience. "It was the best of times, it was the worst of times...."

Some people here are way to content with losing. "Don't be a piss poor fan", "Keep moaning and groaning". Yall should be moaning and groaning after a loss like that. And I don't wanna hear all the excuses and that I'm a bad fan or we have a bad fan base. I spend the time and money and go to games as does my whole Tech family. But the body language and attitude of players suggests to that they are not happy to be out there. In sense, it wouldn't suprise me if some people switched it up and transferred out.

we get it...however some of are saying that players leave every single year. And it happens elsewhere too (I would imagine). It's not about losing to Duke. It's about wanting to play at a lower level immediately vs. grinding and developing and beating out the guy in front of you. I do not think our coaches are above criticism. But I don't believe they are not starting the players that they think give us the best chance to win. They want to win as much if not more than us fans do.

Guys who leave imo are like the guys who dropped out at Tech academically to find easier paths. That's usually not the best strategy to tackle problems. Putting in the work usually is.

Backup should have been put in with 8 minutes to go. No reason to get TM hurt on a game we were going to lose anyway. Let our backup get some reps in a real game. He was warming him for the next possession but their 3rd string QB took it to us and ran out the clock.

Collin Peek (sp?) went on to be a starter for N/C bama team. Course a TE, but might have made it as OL here.
Yep. That's another one. He was highly rated tight end coming out of high school and did well at the Capstone. I stand corrected there have been some transfers who have done well and a lot that did not.

A loud (complaining loud not loud in the stands) portion of our fanbase likes to scream "terrible coaching fire coach so and so"(...usually Roof) but can't even break down, recognize, or cite examples of play that show poor coaching. Because they know diddly squat themselves about the fundamentals of play at any position. And they are not at practices observing the jobs the coaches do. They aren't in coaches meetings to witness game plan discussions etc.

None of that stops them from proclaiming themselves experts on the subjects they complain about because they by golly just witnessed a bad performance so obviously someone's head needs to go.

Then other fans step in to point out the typical fallacies of those fans' observations and proclamations. And the butthurt then grows exponentially and they claim those criticizing them are embracing losing and mediocrity. Hypocrites that they are they can dish it but can't take it.

But when you question the heart of our players, that you do not know personally at all, and seemingly base that criticism off a single poor performance... You expose yourself as a doofus imo. I've watched most every game this year. Been to every home game but one. What you ascribe to our players body language and attitudes is something I think most reasonable fans do not. What I typically see from our players is a lot of excitement and a lot of imploring to our fans in the stands to rise up and make noise. So.......

If you want to see an example of piss poor body language, a seeming desire to "not appear to want to be there"....take a look at the stands around you. There will be plenty of shining examples. Especially when things ain't going swimmingly.

Also feel free to join me and my group at the top of section 101. We are easy to find. We are the group that other fans turn around to see who is yelling so loud while they sit quietly in their own seats. You won't be able to miss us. You are welcome to come join in on the fun. It's a blast.

if the guys who were laughing it up on the sidelines when we were down 21-3 to wake forest a few weeks ago leave the program.... you can count me as one who is ok with that.

thats a total distraction and inappropriate timing imo. from my eyes they dont look like they are vested in the program.

... and we are just not good enough nor stocked well enough with players to have that happening. that could go a long way towards explaining why we continue to execute plays poorly. too much laughing going on and not enough paying attention to detail.

My only observation is so many wanting roof to go may want to look at the recruits he has brought onboard and reflect that if he goes they may also.

I honestly think most will stay even if they love him and he gets fired. Maybe not TD, and I wouldn't blame him in the least.

On that note....many here must think Pat Swilling is a football ignorant to send his sons to play for a DC that will ruin them and "run them into the ground." Either that or his friendship with, and love for Roof, is stronger than his love for his boys.

I like coach roof but I think it would do CPJ more than good to spend some time with the defensive adjustments and gameplan. After all he is the head coach.

In my opinion, it wasn't defensive alignments as much as our kids were flat as a pancake in an away game. They are not talented enough to play that way and win. They couldn't shed blocks nor could they tackle. And the offense was just as bad in the second half. You can't blame Roof for our main problems. PJ has been good overall for us but we need to transition into our next phase and hopefully make it a win/win situation for both Tech and PJ. I have high hopes that our AD can get this done, now that Bobov is gone.

I like to believe that most of our alumni fans are smart enough to know that once again, this is about jimmies and joes, not so much the coaches. I like to believe our fans that are associated in other ways, through family, friends, etc. are the ones that jump to blame the coaches every time things go south.

GT is a STEM school. No other true STEM school, except the academies, attempts to compete in division 1 football. If you choose to be a GT fan, that is GREAT, but you must realize you are pulling for the ultimate in underdogs, with today's society and culture. It has always been so, but now it is even more than ever. Kids that see the NFL as their ultimate and expected destination, in general, will NOT attend GT. That has been and will continue to be our largest competitive issue, bar none.

I learned that....if my manager and/or job sucks, I move on and fine new employment, rather than staying around and dealing with the same crap day after day.

So basically accept mediocrity or choose another team. Interesting
