An interesting fact to look at and think about ( Kirby's first 3 years at uga 32-10 and 2 eastern division champs) and ( Richt's first 3 years at uga 32-8 and 2 eastern division champs )I think you can do that your first year or two, as the narrative is that you're playing with the last guy's players. After a couple of years, you have to win or the bloom starts to come off the rose. Kirby has turned that corner and now, barring some disaster, has a self-sustaining model. We have to get to that point as well.
You are right 12 wins next year of fire someoneWhat kind of fans are you guys? 3 yrs just to get to 8-10? The bar is very low
Would that be like my wife asking me if I want to work in the yard ?That's a rhetorical question I assume...

Huge difference between 8 and 10. 10 probably means ACC title or title game, 8 probably means beating Kentucky in a meaningless bowl game.
I think the minimum should be 8 each year, that's just me.

While I think we will be able to compete at the same level we have for the last few years (.500ish) I think there are a lot of other indicators you can look at early on beyond W/L (the schedule gets tougher) to discern if Collins is making progress in his first two years...
— Is there an uptick in recruiting
— Are you seeing notable changes in The GT football/brand? are people talking about GT in a different light
—Are we getting more positive media coverage
—Is GT more present in our own city
—Can he sway a few big time transfers? And effectively sell his vision immediately
—is attendance/support up
—are there improvements to the in game experience for fans (I have a feeling he will have input here)
—Do D/ST see immediate improvements
Doesn't he have a 7 yr contract, at least on the surface? All three seasons are key......if by chance he craps the bed in '19 & '20 (I don't expect him to, but you never know) He would have to have a phenomenal year in 2021 to keep the job. He stays at or above .500 the first two years and shows improvement in year three.....he will be okay.
You really think the length of the contract will matter if his record is south of .500 after three years?Doesn't he have a 7 yr contract, at least on the surface?
We aren't talent depleted. We have the players to win now, especially if your schtick is defense anyways. He'll get minimum 4 years here regardless but my expectation every year stays at 8 wins.
