Best I can guess, it's that he's an *******.What cause do they have to fire him?

Some chatter about recruiting trips to see family or something. Embezzlement basically. No credible sources/outlets
If they claim he used recruiting trips for personal visits it will be a tough claim for them to win. They will have to demonstrate three things (maybe more): 1- the university suffered some financial loss as a result; 2- the administration did not give explicit or implicit permission for the side trips; 3- his contract explicitly prohibits those expense items. Some chatter about recruiting trips to see family or something. You just know if they go there his lawyers are going to fight it. They aren't going to simply give up $9.5MM for their client. Especially if there are no NCAA violations or extracurricular activity by the HC, the 2 things that usually bring in the firing with cause.
And if it goes to court that also means something that is going to last for some time, rack up lawyer bills and provide ongoing bad press.
And the next coach knows that if he expenses so much as a bottle of water or drives by their cousin's house on a recruiting trip that it could be used as "cause".If they claim he used recruiting trips for personal visits it will be a tough claim for them to win. My favorite part of the basketball season.
