Not really seeing too much out there, but One Shining Pod believes Paul Hewitt may end up on Penny's staff in Memphis. That could be a smokescreen though.

He picked that one guy from OleMiss IIUC. Hewitt could be the former HC mentor role guy.

Hurley is in a tough spot with respect to his decision.

Pitt - disaster, good conference, hopefully really low expectations
UConn - avg team, poor conference fit, high expectations
URI - losing 4 of his top 5 scorers, possible drop off next year

None of the positions are ideal. Does he need to strike now while the iron is hot? Does he roll the dice and hope for a better opportunity next year or down the road? The latter would be my choice. Get that extension, maybe take some grad transfers to stay afloat one more year at the expense of the overall program, then reevaluate.

What am I missing? Only reason he'd leave Ariz is to get out before the reaper. But, in this case, the reaper likely follows him with a show cause. So, if you're Pitt, why bother?

Unless he's all mad because Ariz hung him out to dry in that 1-game "suspension". Even so, it's not like he was innocent. He just got off on a typo.

This is really weird. Almost as weird as Mack to Lville (potentially). Common denominator in both cases though is they both mean nothing is coming of the FBI thing.

@CuseJacket you know the answer to your questions is Hurley to S'Cuse.

This is the maddening thing about this time of year. All the reports were that Miller "discussed" the Pitt job. Well, if they called and he said 'Nah, bruh', well technically they did discuss it and the "journalist's" story is accurate. Unfortunately, the spirit of the article was completely false.

And, on the other hand, him saying he's "not a candidate" could mean he called begging for a lifeline and they said, "Nah, bruh." That would make his statement "accurate".

Maddening.
