My only comment is that I truly wish those who want to be paid for playing a sport should go straight to professional basketball, at some level. Leave college sports out of the professional game. Idealistic, I know... just my opinion.

I do agree that the colleges make the money, not the players. I just don’t believe that the Kansas City Monarchs basketball team would draw either the live gate or TV ratings the Kansas Jayhawks draw, even if every player left the college for the pro team.
I think we agree about that. I'd prefer that the NBA make it two and done (or 21 age)rather than the current OAD system. If they have to play for two years overseas to get immediate money, then I think that could influence them to more appreciate what they have here in the USA.

Win or lose tonite, we picked the wrong "V" school to try to emulate.
Villanova follows a get old/stay old strategy and Pastner wants to play with pace & space while targeting shooting in recruiting.

Who says Villanova isn't among those we'll emulate?

You still up on Dum Dum Hill?

If you think JJ is a racist. that is your podium.
i don't know him or what's in his heart. maybe he just tweeted stupidly without thinking. He brought up slavery as a "race baiting" way to argue salary for college athletes. It was a racist "statement" that you advocated so my point remains.

Can we all agree that we're following Villanova's version of goso then?

On another note, I noticed a bungelow on D. D. Hill with an 'I hate DRad' flag hanging on the porch. I haven't met the owner yet but the kids say he's super creepy. Weird, right?

I figured Nova would shoot it pretty well given how poorly they shot against Texas Tech, but they have been insane. 13 made threes in the first half by 7 players.

i think DTM is largely correct here. Pastner mentioned in his post season interview with the AJC that it is all about guard play and shooting. Also said the tempo should start to increase next season as the lineup changes.
Also mentioned that means you have to recruit shooting. 2 of the 3 players they have signed in 2018 are really good shooters. The Class of 2018 is not considered a very good shooting class in its Top 100 type talent, but Devoe is considered one of the best shooters in his class. The scouts at the Basketball without Borders event last year felt Sjolund was the best shooter there.

They are recruiting guys that can play and shoot, but we are probably one more year away from really having a team that can light it up from outside. i'd be thrilled if we could go from the low 30's of the last 2 seasons to a 37-37% clip next year.

Your post reeks of desperation.

You're going to need years of negative data that does not yet and may not ever exist in order for you to sniff the possibility that Tony Bennett is anything other than an excellent coach.

You'd have a better shot as presidential candidate for the Green Party.

Congrats to Michigan. Moment was too big for both teams in the first half, but ultimately someone had to win. As unimpressive of a championship game run as you'll ever see.

Really not much of a deal.
Going into tonight they were avg 11.5 made threes a game at a 40% clip.

Tonight they make 18 at a 45% clip.
For they tourney they are 66-156 from three 43% (and that includes their atrocious 4-24 game vs Texas Tech).
That's the only game they have made fewer than 13. I'd expect 10-15 made threes depending upon how they are shooting.

Interesting article on where the Villanova program's perfomance would rank all time if they win on Monday.
Also talks about how Villanova has achieved its recent perfomance not through chasing one and done players but by finding the right program guys.

that's true they don't recruit the OAD's but there are 7 guys on that roster who were 4 or 5 star recruits. just sayin that if we emulate that with threestar talent then we can get a vw beetle that will stay on the track at daytona for four years (like cbg) ....... maybe cjp just has to continue improving the level of talent, the atlanta area always seems to have some promising talent just need to revoke coach K's travel permit for georgia.will be excited to see what devoe can do

I think the plan is to have 4* talent with some high potential 3* as well.
That's what i get when I listen to Pastner. What i don't expect to get is 5* talent.

FWIW, if you didn't watch any of the Women's Final Four - it may have been the best 3 games at a Final Four i've ever seen. Both semi-finals went to overtime - with one being won on a buzzer beater in OT.
The championship game was also won on a buzzer beater
