Cano might wind up with the Yankees, it makes more sense. Yanks take on more bad contracts, Mets need to unload Jay Bruce(Mariners are not on his list of five teams he will accept a trade to) to take on Robinson Cano and his contract. If Seattle throws in Edwin Diaz to a trade, watch the Bronx Bombers take Cano too!

One key factor in the Cano situation is the notion of the Mariners dealing star closer Edwin Diaz as a means of offloading the money owed Cano. There is indeed some willingness to do so on the part of the Seattle organization, per Joel Sherman of the New York Post. But it seems clubs with interest in Diaz aren’t necessarily amenable to taking on enough of the $120MM still owed to Cano to make it work. Sherman lists the Mets, Yankees, Braves, Phillies, and Red Sox as teams angling for Diaz, not all of which have any inclination to pick up Cano.

The Dodgers announced Wednesday that they’ve acquired left-hander Adam McCreery from the Braves in exchange for cash.

The Mariners have acquired left-hander Ricardo Sanchez from the Braves, tweets Greg Johns of MLB.com. They’ll send cash to Atlanta in exchange for the 21-year-old southpaw, who was designated for assignment two daye ago.

Winter Meetings coming up soon. Give them time. The only huge transaction after the World Series was Josh Donaldson, a 23 million, one-year deal. At least it was a Brave(s) transaction.

Dallas Keuchel is out there. Patrick Corbin. All the FA pitching. I give Alex credit, he’s been in touch with most GM’s feeling out trade demands for next month. He’s trying, but the other teams are wanting our farm system for a front line starter.

Their farm system has been bolstered by the last two deals, making the affordable young outfielder with some sock, available. It might take three prospects, including two ML top 100 ones from Atlanta.

AJ Pollock, wouldn’t cost as much in prospects by being a FA, but not the same value as Haniger.

Anthopoulos, has said that he still has a three player wish list: 1)Front line starter, 2)Closer, 3)Power-Hitting OF.

• Southpaw Jonny Venters avoided arb with the Braves, David O’Brien of The Athletic tweets. It’s a $2.25MM deal, sitting well over the $1.5MM projection, though certainly his unusual career path could have led to some additional arguments for a stronger raise.
• In 2011 he appeared in 85 games. In 2018 he combined in both leagues to get in 50 games.
