I think this is my fav tweet so far.
FWIW, I have no doubt that Nike is paying players just like Adidas was - probably more so as they are a bigger company in college basketball. The only reason it is Adidas being targeted by the Feds is because that happened to be who the guys they got the original tip on happened to work for.
I'd be more surprised if they are not!None of this so far means he doesn't have the goods, but he has fired blanks before. I will not be surprised if Nike is just as guilty as Adidas.
Haha. Probably some truth to it all but if you can't prove it, it all comes across as a vengeful, coke-induced rampage ...
Sounds very R. Bell-ish. Hope he has proof.

FWIW, Lawson was planning to publicly commit to GT less than 48 hours from his announcement before ultimately committing to OR. Just saying.
all the sneaker companies are dirty as hell in terms of NCAA regulations. This is where the changes are needed. Schools shouldn't be paying for kids, but if shoe companies and others want to pay them, let them go ahead, let it be in the open.
Whether the creepy porn lawyer has actual evidence or not Nike has been paying players to go to Oregon for a long time. It is an open "secret" in the business.
I think it's interesting that colleges have "we can fire you for cause" clauses in coaches' contracts. One of the "causes is getting caught violating NCAA rules. The key words here are "getting caught." Do whatever you have to do to win and bring a shining light on the university, but do NOT get caught. The fact that Zion's parents now live in a nice Durham neighborhood is not important as long as Duke does not get caught. Do you think the NCAA will do anything that keeps Duke out of the tournament in March? Or tarnish the image of Coach K?https://sports.yahoo.com/michael-av...t-he-may-have-dirt-on-the-ncaa-224255687.html

a number of folks have mentioned that duke parents have nice houses in Durham but is there any evidence to support that? aren't real estate transactions well documented?
There is nothing wrong with renting a house to the parents of a recruit. But is has to be at prevailing market rates. So, a Duke booster rents a house in a nice neighborhood to the parents of Player-1. They "fail" to pay the agreed upon rent, but the landlord "understands their difficult circumstances" and does not press for payment. The player leaves Duke for a nice job traveling among NBA cities and playing basketball. The parents move into a different neighborhood (well away from Durham) in a nice house house that is paid for by Player-1. Why would the NCAA think there was anything wrong with that scenario???a number of folks have mentioned that duke parents have nice houses in Durham but is there any evidence to support that? aren't real estate transactions well documented?
Do you think all that's happening is them "renting a house", @orientalnc ? I know you refuse to believe anything untoward is happening in your neck o' the woods but ... c'mon, o.
Also this ...
Well-crafted answer from him.
