I was originally a fan of gold outs. I am now not a fan of the Gold outs (I know this may hurt some feelings). Many people do not like to wear gold and will not wear gold (fact). Plus all the different colors of gold dose not look very good on a crowd.

That said, I will wear gold in 2018.

Never heard anyone say that. The Vandy game when we did a goldout looked fine so not quite sure about that one.

I hate gold and as such wont wear gold. I always wear a white GT polo to games. The gold looks stupid on all fabric.

If EVERYBODY wore gold, even of differing shades, to the games, it would look very good.

It did buuuuuuuuuuuuut Vandy fans probably showed up in gold too, not knowing it was a goldout. Actually l, it was a smart move by the marketing dept/GTAA to do it vs another team the wears gold.

If we're being honest, this is true. Not sure why folks won't accept this. It's why we need to incorporate navy.
I just don't understand this. I don't hear LSU fans complaining about loud-*** purple, or Clemson fans complaining about that bright as hell orange. I have zero issues with how the gold looks, and think it looks good. Regardless, though, it's one of our 2 main dang ol' colors

It's because we have a bunch of fickle fashionistas for fans, who are more concerned with how something looks on them, than they are with wearing the school colors.:mad::mad:

Because purple or safety-cone orange aren't difficult to adapt to apparel. Gold is.

It's not that it's an ugly color, it's that it doesn't marry well with fabrics.

Not difficult to understand.

And I'm well aware of what our official colors are. Doesn't mean we can't be creative and actually make some uniform, nice looking fits ... which happen to have navy incorporated.

How did I get sucked into this pillow fight?

Haha. He so mad.

I don't care that much about it but, given a choice between wearing off-color gold or navy, I'd choose navy.

Do you tuck your polo shirts into sweatpants, btw? I know, I know .. only if it's a gold polo shirt. :D

I don't know why gold would be any more difficult to adapt to apparel than any other color. In the past, it's been a problem with too many different interpretations of what Tech (or old) gold is. Now that that's been decided and registered, gold should adapt itself as well to apparel as any other color does.

I don't wear sweat pants, and if I did, certainly not with a polo. When I wear polos, whether I tuck them in depends on where I am when I am wearing them.

Gold doesn't translate well to differing fabrics. That's a reason why it appeared there were so many different variations in the past. adidas will help but it's not going to be easy for them either.

Imagine if we end up wearing a chrome "gold" helmet, for example. No way that's going to match the uniforms.

I know. The only human that tucks polos into sweatpants is our basketball coach who clearly needs a stylist.

I am the same way - I only wore gold for the Vandy game.

There's one shade now and in person it looks pretty damn good
I like the Tech gold too, but it's not like the closets of Tech fans are magically upgraded this year. People will still wear various shades of gold from Russel, Champion, UA etc. We know for cheap Tech fans can be (as seen in this thread) so I don't expect everyone to drop the cash on new Tech gold shirts and discard the old gear.

That's true, but season ticket holders certainly have no excuse, since we will get a free shirt for each ticket order, IF they ever tell us how to order them.
