Look at the gambling tickets on Twitter for the Howard/UNLV game, they're nuts. $10 wins 55K or something like that. Seems fishy to me. Also saw a report that some UNLV players were in a sportsbook last week laying down big money on the game. I love Vegas.

FWIW i think SCAR is criminally underrated this year seeing as to how many people they are bringing back. Muschamp is a brilliant defensive coach, if they get an offense they could be scary

I am still trying to figure out how NCST lost that game. Try to imagine if TECH had out gained an opponent 500+ yards to 250, more than doubled them up on the number of first downs, and had nearly 40 minutes of possession time while only losing the TO battle by 1 and STILL LOST. This place would be melting down. I guess that is what giving up a Special teams TD and two TOs deep in your own end will do to an otherwise one-sided contest. I was expecting a win from NCST heading into that game and was merely hoping for an FSU win. At this point, it really should be 1-1 between the two leagues. Still, the SEC actually won the games, so give them credit.

In watching the FSU BAMMER game, it looked like the two teams were pretty evenly matched. IF they played 10 times the TIDE would probably win 6. Both defenses are really good. Like any team, we will need to watch them play several more before having an idea about their true standing in the CFB landscape.

MICH dismantled UF, who once again looks like an abomination on offense. 17 points for the GATORS, 14 of them on pick sixes on con-SEC-utive plays. The SEC east remains a mystery. Can't make much of UGAgs win. USC essentially got handled. MISSOU gave up 50 points. UK or VANDY? Doubt it. We will see the VOWELS tomorrow night.

I largely agree.

The one caveat I'd offer is that it may be too soon to decide about UFs O. UM has great DC and top talent.

The Florida fans are starting to give up on Jim McElwain. A Florida fan posting on Volnation said Florida's cupboard was pretty bare because Jim McElwain didn't have the personality to be a good recruiter. Some Florida fans want Chip Kelly or Steve Spurrier to replace him.

What I have learned and think from action so far.
1. We still don't know about a lot of teams
2. NC State is a pretender. They were supposed to be great on defense, looks like a 5 loss team to me
3. UNC, look Cal is terrible and they traveled. Like a said no offense for UNC and the D sucks.
4. I told people Alabama was going to put a beat down on FSU. FSU was a 3 loss team last year and looks the same this year and is now looking for a quarterback.
5. Clemson, ok you beat a junior college. We will know after next week.
6. USC Trojans, I know WMU was good last year but that was too close.
7. UGA, my worst nightmare and prediction has come true. I told a very good friend of mine, a UGA guy, that Eason would be replaced mid year by Fromm because Eason sucks. and yes that would be hard on us. Well Eason is gone and Fromm isin to stay.
8. CPJs Flex Bone spread attack is working pretty well, Army Navy. Let's roll it into Monday
9 I think WVU will Beat VT.

GT will have to deal with Jacob Eason when he transfers to Miami(in my opinion) in December or January. He'll be a quality quarterback for Mark Richt.

The sky is falling on FSU right now. Bama is really good.

Florida State appeared to believe they could match physical talent with Alabama, and game planned accordingly. When they realized, especially in the line, they were out-gunned, they had no Plan B. It certainly wasn't a big secret that Alabama's defensive line was going to try to knock the O-line back and be disruptive. That is always their plan. FSU couldn't run the ball, and started very early throwing high risk passes. Basically giving away a down per series.

Overall the ACC stunk it up yesterday. I just hope we are ready to play tomorrow.

I hate to be a conspiracy theorist. Is the officiating just getting worse, or is there a sinister agenda driving things? Saw three instances (maybe four) of targeting calls. I have no clue as to how the rule is to be applied. Purdue got jobbed in their game against Louisville. The disqualification feature is a huge deal, on top of the 15 yards. It affects the rest of the game, especially for teams with depth issues. And please, no lectures on player safety--I get it. The application of the rule seems very arbitrary to me.

Could not agree more, but NC State lost the game in the 2nd half, when they had the following possessions:
5 plays/15 yards/punt
3 plays/-15 yards/ fumble on own 13
6 plays/7 yards/punt
3 plays/7 yards/punt
9 plays/46 yards/TD
5 plays/18 yards/punt
5 plays/21 yards/downs
14 plays/62 yards/downs

In the FSU/Alabama game I thought the teams were pretty even until Alabama decided their 4 man rush would not beat the FSU OL. When they started blitzing the Noles did not protect Francois well enough. That caused him to rush throws, which led to interceptions on consecutive possessions. And, eventually, to his injury.

Yeah I agree with you,Jean. There was a Michigan player who obviously hit head to head with a Florida player on the sideline and wasn't called for it:rolleyes:

NCAA officials are just not very skilled. They are too influenced by the crowd's boos and cheers because they're nervous, it dictates their calls.

There was a very easy call of targeting from Alabama to Francois that they threw a flag for out of bounds hit and picked up and did not call targeting. I saw a lot of PI inconsistencies.

The refs picked up the flag because the hit was inbounds, therefore perfectly legal.
