The unfortunate thing, or maybe not, is that nobody over there or NFL scouts thinks that Bryant is an NFL prospect. No question. I think Saturday vs. Syracuse, the only team to beat them last year when Bryant went out in the second quarter with an injury that hobbled in through the first quarter, and unbeaten so far this year, will be instructive for Clemson, the ACC and the NC race. Those four guys on the D front came back to win a national championship, and it will be interesting to see if they let this incident affect the game. I would hate to be the offensive line coach for Clemson right about now, losing sleep over the chore of keeping Lawrence vertical.

Everything else aside, no way. The reason even if he were interested and he is not -- and he is reportedly a very good student so it's not the curriculum -- is that he was far too slow in making his option reads even from the shotgun and for the last two years Clemson has lost much of its passing game. Good runner, decent passer, bad option QB. With no NFL possibilities there at all.
Even better than all of that is that after this the insufferable egotist and worshipful grandmaster of offense and chief cheerleader for the goofy "Football is America" clique, Larry Fedora, will be yesterday's toast now, and the 7th turnover from the Miami game.
