Don't know the source of this. Grabbed it from a Syracusefan.com thread.

We really do have a good offense this year. Not great but very good.

We have a better point per drive than everyone in the ACC and a better point per play than everyone but Clemson. I would call that great.
An offense is not "great" when ti can be stuffed by the likes of Pitt, Duke, and (obviously) Clemson. And ours was. Even Miami was NOT a stellar offensive performance (their turnovers were the difference in the game). Piling up stats against weaker defenses makes our averages look much better than our overall consistency on O. We're good. We could be great if we could consistently pass effectively. But we haven't for most of the last two years. So, we're good.

This post ignores the possibility that sometimes guys play poorly and some Ds are good. We played poorly against Pitt and Duke. CU and d'oh U have good Ds. We actually scored more efficiently against CU and d'oh U than they typically allow power5 competition.

Not teams except Alabama and Oklahoma have looked good every single game. If you have to be successful in 100% of your games to be great, then your definition is too tight

We had over 3 points per drive against Miami. That is good no matter what things you want to classify it with.

Piling up stats against weaker defenses makes our averages look much better than our overall consistency on O.
Every single offense in all of football piles up stats against weaker teams. Even when only considering power 5 opponents, our offense is in the top 10 of the nation. What do you actually want them to do? Score 100% of their drives? Because guess what....no one does that.

Also, it sucks our performance against VT wasn't great because we didn't pass. Thankfully their sub great performance still destroyed them.

An option offense cannot be a "great" offense if it cannot run the option. Johnson's reliance on the QB keeper, with either QB, acknowledges his grudging acceptance of that while he adapts to a) keep b) follow) c) occasional midline and finally the rarer speed option, and that is GT 2018. I think that is good coaching and I hope in '19 we have all of the above and a QB who can read and pitch the option. No offense in football has the beauty of it. Was it the VT player who noted after the game that Tech lines up, "says they are better and tougher than you are" and runs right at you? I thought that a quite unremarked acknowledgement of Johnson's game.

If it happens it's a must see.
Iirc
We would need to play great the next 2 games to qualify for Orlando.

Ga tech ground game verses Texas Tech Air raid would be a classic.

What bearing does this have on the price of rice in China? What if we were air raid, but we scored 40 points a game running the ball for whatever reason. It’s still a great offense.

Clemson would beat ND like a red headed step child. Alabama and Michigan may be the better matchup. If they all make it.

I still think it will be GT-Tennessee in the Music City Bowl or Taxslayer Gator Bowl:cool: Tennessee will win their next two games and wind up 7-5 and GT will hopefully win their next two making a fine 7-5 vs 8-4 matchup in the Music City Bowl or Taxslayer Gator Bowl:cigar:
