ACC Bowl Discussion

From a national perspective, how many 5-star kids want to play in the loser ACC Conference? ESPN will make sure everyone hears what a loser Conference the ACC has been for years. Might as well announce “Go to the SEC” and be a winner because “it just matters more”! 🤮
Our last two games are proof unfortunately.
Tech needs to be working hard to build a relationship with a better Conference now so they will have a deal in place when our ACC ties end.

CEB, I remember several years ago ESPN made a big deal of keeping account of the bowl wins by conference. the ACC had the best percentage a couple of years in a row, ANF they just quit talking about it. This current slump is not typical.

During the Colorado-BYU game on ABC, they just showed the Progressive Bowl Challenge with the AAC at the top and the ACC next to the Bottom at 1-9.

Money usually wins! I still believe this direction of college football has a bad ending…we already have the NFL and the NFL players don’t quit and have players to sit out!
Yeah, it's time for a 30-50 team division that has equal revenue sharing, salary caps, and contracts just like the NFL. Not sure how they will decide who gets to participate and who doesn't because there is no way Northwestern and Vanderbilt make that upper tier while someone like Clemson sits out.

If this transfer portal and NIL thing fails, the NCAA takes back total control. I’m just guessing though 😂

As of now, I believe the conference is 2-7 in bowl games. Is this a meaningful stat in your opinion or just a random number? Whatever the case it's hard to spin this in a positive fashion imo.
It used to have some meaning, but not anymore. Now, regardless of how badly a team wants to win, there are too many variables to really be a true reflection of the team that played the regular season.

The ACC bowl record speaks volumes about the quality of football in the conference. When Tech, which we all think is an ACC star, gets beaten by the perennial bottom feeder of the SEC…
I thought Clemson's loss to USCe was even more telling tbh. If there is a silver lining here, it speaks to the fact that we should have a relatively easy path to get into the playoffs going forward. so there's that I suppose.

That perennial bottom feeder beat Alabama and lost to Texas and Mizzou by 3. They finished tied with Arkansas, one game behind Florida in the SECheat. They were no doormat.
Furthermore, 5 of our 9 bowl losses were by 1 score. Very competitive games.
