Not sure I can see any middle ground where everyone feels good about the deals done/not done.

If the Braves resign Josh Donaldson for 4 years they wont regret it because they will have their heavy hitting 3rd baseman;)

I echo these sentiments (or cinnamons?)

As a non-baseball fan, I've learned a good bit from the back n' forth here.
I've learned @YellowJacketFan2018 is a hoot.
I've learned @Milwaukee has a hawt sister.
I've learned from @FredJacket that at least one gNats fans can be tolerated :smuggrin:.
And I've learned that @Buzzbomb knows nothing about basketball ... well, he knows about women's bball so that counts for something ... I guess ... ok, maybe not.

Trust me, you guys are the best! I’ve been on the Hive since the ‘90’s(kjmc15)and I don’t even post any Braves over there. Don’t think I ever did. Really miss GTJT(Scottie from Va.), he was with our small group on the Rivals free board and original Hiver. He forgot more baseball than I ever knew. Seriously, you guys make the discussions perfectly enjoyable. I’m so glad Fred joined us this year. Without Mike, don’t know what I’d do?

Oh and @kg01 you do know baseball! Sharp dude, and funny as all get out. Love you too, Brother! I’m thrilled you joined the talk this year.

The AAV is going to be out of sight. Supply and Demand, and win or lose in this war, the Nats. are showing the love today! Heard Minnesota increased their offer, too!

Bowden’s information is that if Donaldson ends up signing elsewhere, the Braves ‘he’s been told’ will “pivot” to Marcel Ozuna or Nick Castellanos.

Are we going to be surprised when the the AAV is 28-30 m.?
How about 5 years-125 m.? Five at 150 m.?

He’s going to be making more than Freeman. See the photo. above with Freddie hugging him?
Next year he’s going to be playing “grab arse” and reaching down in that pocket for a pick 100.

It was brought up today, that JD hit .158 in the playoffs.
That ought to increase his value. But seriously, they are not paying him for B.Avg.
He’s never going to hit .300, we got that. 3B is a premium position.

David O’Brien of The Athletic predicts Donaldson back to the Braves(not that it means too much; I won the Hive prediction contest about 3 years ago from over 200 people, kjmc15, and currently can’t predict bathroom visits). Minnesota has been confirmed, as the third team offering Josh a 4th year.

Don Larsen passes away
Larsen, who famously pitched a perfect game in the 1956 World Series, passes away at 90.
