I think you may be right on 3B. Maybe it’s for the best to give Riley another chance where he belongs, if not traded. Camargo can play SS, 2B and 3B of course.

My hopes are for another power bat or super contact guy in RF. With Acuña in CF, the Kakes/Duvy platoon in LF and Pache on the way....Waters behind them all for the future.
The Braves will be in a bad spot if Austin Riley comes out hitting .220:rolleyes:

Here's my list,Buzzbomb

1)Christian Pache
2)Drew Waters
3)Ian Anderson
4)Bryce Wilson
5)Kyle Wright
Love how you have Waters higher than me. The feeling around baseball is that he and Pache are top 5 in MLB for OF prospects. He could be a September call-up, and starting in 2021, according to the projections. I’m hoping Pache’s power numbers will keep trending up, and it wasn’t a fluke last year. Were the Minor League balls juiced like MLB?

Camargo needs to be ready. We need him no matter what anyone does at 3B. He’s our Culberson now. Charlie and his eye, is an unknown commodity.Hence the Minor League, make good deal in the Braves system.
Sadly,i'm not sold on Camargo being able to hit either:grumpy: If neither Riley or Camargo hit i would bring up 3rd baseman Daniel Lockhart from the Mississippi Braves to play 3rd base:cigar:

From MLB TR:
As they did last time around, the Braves sprinted out of the gates to address multiple key needs. But the club’s biggest question entering the winter — what to do about the departure of star third baseman Josh Donaldson — remains unanswered. It’s a good roster as-is, but the lineup would look a whole lot better with another big bat in the middle of it. If Donaldson can’t be retained, the Braves could look to the trade market at third base or pursue one of the remaining corner outfielders and re-shuffle their internal deck accordingly. The club seems quite settled otherwise but could still explore opportunistic rotation opportunities.

Fred, looks like Kendrick might play some 1B to spell, Zimmerman. I know you need some IF help. This from MLB TR:
Youngster Carter Kieboom could be cast into a big role, but the organization probably prefers to see him force his way up rather than relying on him out of the gates.
Yes on Kendrick at 1B (when he isn't playing 2B.... or.... 3B :))

...the infield is TBD for sure. Remember... Zimmerman isn't signed yet, either. He's publicly stated he's not signing with any other team. If Nationals don't find room for him... he's retiring. They will sign him...he's needed.

Paul Crane of Atlanta radio station The Game reported a rather specific request he heard that the Cubs made to the Braves.
"I was told the Cubs showed great interest in the Braves' minor leagues," Crane said. "They've already, I'm told, told the Braves any three of these four and they'll send Kris Bryant. Those four are Ian Anderson, Austin Riley, Drew Waters and Kyle Wright.
"Now obviously there's room for negotiation. That's what they asked for."

I'm not giving up Anderson. I would also hate to give up Waters, but we can afford to trade him with Pache and Acuna. So I would give up Riley and Wright, then try to talk them down to a combination of two of Wilson, Contreras, Weigel, and Shewmake. If they don't bite on that then I would give up Waters, Riley, and Wright.

All of this depends on having Bryant for 2 years AND Donaldson would have to sign somewhere else.

I still want the Braves to do whatever it takes to get Arenado, but we'll be a World Series contender with any one of Bryant, Arenado, or Donaldson at third base hitting in the clean up spot.

The Phillies could choose to utilize Adam Haseley in center field and Scott Kingery at third base. Phils also still must figure out what to do with Odubel Herrera, who’ll be returning from a suspension. I don’t think they have enough pitching. Particularly in relief. Probably not through spending. Farm system not to be counted on, presently.

The Mets will be most keen to utilize blocked first baseman Dominic Smith as a trade chip — whether to bring back prospects, shed the Jed Lowrie contract, or deliver a different MLB piece — but younger big leaguers J.D. Davis and Steven Matz could also conceivably be dangled. They would like to get a CF guy like Starlin Marte.

I don’t even want to give them any of the four prospects. Rather sign a FA OF for a draft pick or give JD a 4th year(DH is probably coming to NL). Can’t blame the Cubs or Colorado for asking for half of the team for Arenado. Third Base is a premium position. Especially power bats. Clubs are trying to steal Austin Riley. He’s only 22 yo.

I was thinking of that too! We gave up the Butler and our best pitching prospect in Rick Behenna and another young star in Brook Jacoby. I’m still having nightmares from the Teixeira deal, in giving up 5 players for what, a year and a half? Don’t want to remember Adam Wainwright for JD Drew. Some trades are horrendous. FA, it’s only money. Ha!

It took the Braves a long time to recover from the Mark Teixeira deal:vomit::banghead:

Went to a movie today with a friend who presently works for the Braves. She said, don’t ask because we have no idea. Rain Dude has said he wanted it done before Christmas and apparently has left on vacation. I’m as puzzled as you Gents.(including you @kg01 ). Smile?

I’ve been feeling Nats. all along, but no inside information to support such. Not sure anyone knows including Josh or the agency. Wouldn’t shock me if it becomes Atlanta or he takes Minnesota and their 4 years. Sticking with you guys, Fred. Do you think Rizzo told the agent, we'll beat the highest dollar AAV in deferred money @ 4 years?

I wouldn't be shocked if it's announced that Josh will be with the Braves for another 2-3 seasons in the next week or two.;) I've learned never be surprised with anything that goes on in MLB:cigar:

The Braves would have to give him vesting option(s) to take it to 4 years. Otherwise he looks like a chump, taking 2 or 3 years. IMHO, only, I don’t think he’d take 2 years at 60 m.-unless player options are added on.

For the record, I want him here too! Rather than trade a bunch of MLB almost ready or ready players for a guy like Bryant. Ozuna may go elsewhere, like Grandal did.
