Atlanta is darn hard to ignore. And by my reckoning, when invites begin again 3 years down the road, we will be on a successful run and have appeared in the ACCCG, possibly champions. I really like what Key is doing and I think we are going to reap benefits.
An invite today? No.
An invite in...
I tend to agree - Atlanta and Georgia are still pretty desirable entities for B1G to plant a flag. Throw in Academics and AAU and one has to think we would be given serious consideration. I wouldn't be surprised to find that there is an offer when the levee breaks.
But we are in a situation...
I cant imagine they would go to these extremes without having kicked it off initially with a straw poll of an invite.
But with all the odious mudslinging and a perception of breach of confidentiality, if I was B1G or SEC I wouldn't take FSU based on their toxicity.
Perhaps encourage these types to cosplay to football games. Everybody considers us nerds already, let us just embrace the fact and flaunt it. And maybe sell tickets.
How different would it really be than some of the guff I have seen people wearing to NFL games?
This is my take.
With the bang for their buck, ACC has been a cash cow for ESPN. They are making money on our deal, not losing money. With the previously disclosed state of ESPN finances, I don't see a way for them NOT to extend if they want to remain viable.
As if we didnt have enough reason to RUTS on these guys! I REALLY want retribution now.
He lost me on his first offensive play where he pulled that silly line up in the flex formation and then "just kidding" and going pro style. Total CPJ disrespect.
I see opportunity to take out 3 years...
Ive been all over these games today. Michigan looked better than Alabama, but their ST were ruining the season. Gotta fix that first the next game.
Washington looks better than Texas right now and they also had a ST flub that cost them 7.
I get that and agree it would sap interest, I'm really just coming from a standpoint of the poll. Its not going to affect me as much because if we aren't in a top 3 conf, then I look on the bright side and realize at least I can go to games.
I don't buy season tickets at the moment, we live too far away for that sort of activity with HS activities all the time. But maybe when we become empty nesters.
That said, I would do it regardless of how realignment shakes out. I look forward to it, in fact.
And if it is Sunbelt or AAC -...
