  1. 2017 ACC schedule

If they pay $5M/yr or whatever Saban is getting by then, someone will take it. You could bomb hard and never need to work again...minimum $25M in your pocket.
  2. Lunch Bunch Todd Stansbury

Both, I'd imagine. His later point about getting kids into games before graduating goes along with this.
  3. Can Georgia Tech win a National Championship with CPJ?

No, but I don't think Saban could do it here either.
  4. Stansbury Article

A lot of teams would be in the hunt with Clemson's front 7. There's maybe 3-5 teams in the country who are in the same vicinity.
  5. Biggest ? Going into 2017

The obvious big one is QB. MJ is the kind of guy you like as a backup, but I dunno how his game translates to full-time starter. The other one is what we're going to do in the front 7 to replace Gamble and Davis. Even if those guys weren't A+ Studs, they were solid P5 starters and their...
  6. ACC Bowl Action

Louisville-LSU is getting a lot of attention as well. Unfortunately it's at the exact same time as our game.
  7. TaxSlayer Bowl Predictions

We were pretty bad in bowls under Chan as well. The two wins were PJ Daniels going off against Tulsa in 2003 and then us getting Syracuse's coach fired basically live on air in 2004. The 2005 Emerald Bowl against Utah stands out as a particularly low point, similar to the 2010 Air Force loss...
  8. TaxSlayer Bowl Media

Everyone's favorite: Jersey news! http://www.ajc.com/sports/college/new-uniform-combination-for-georgia-tech-taxslayer-bowl/hqxku2Aa8nlvJ0BPWrYiTN/ (White honeycomb helmets, Gold shirt, White pants. Apparently Butker picked it)
  9. 5 star guys versus 0 star guys

Tape, for one. There's a lot more that goes into being a FBS lineman than just "being big". Agility to get to the 2nd level and get a hat on a LB or Safety, not making mistakes, etc. The slightly bigger guy also projects to gain more in a college S&C program.
  10. What does a bowl win mean?

Yeah, of the three the Pitt loss is the one that really stings for me. But if that's the trade for pulling out a UGA win and beating VT, then I'll live with it.
  11. Navy Bowl Game

Defenses we play against have 2-3 guys spying JT most of the time. La Tech's D was not spying their 4th string QB on his first play, so great time to run it.
  12. What does a bowl win mean?

It doesn't really mean anything in terms of performance for next year, but it would keep the CPJ haters quiet for a few more weeks.
  13. 5 star guys versus 0 star guys

This is just the Pro Bowl. And I don't think that kind of hit rate based on projecting 17 year-old kids is that bad. If you had a 40% hit rate at 7+ years in the stock market, you wouldn't be posting on this board :) If you look at other metrics like high draft picks (1st-2nd round) or guys...
  14. Gator Bowl Ticket Status

Schools would love to change it, but the bowls aren't going to change anything because it's free money to line the Board's pockets.
  15. TaxSlayer Bowl Media

Roof has had a pretty good string of jobs since getting fired from Duke. Minnesota, Auburn (where he sucked, to be fair), UCF, Penn State.
  16. ACC Discussion

The ACC does not sponsor a hockey league (only ND and BC field varsity teams in Men's Hockey), but the conference is generally alright at most other things. I didn't know until now that Cuse doesn't field a varsity Baseball team, though.
  17. Genuine Questions!

You weren't paying up to $49k/year, either. (source: http://www.finaid.gatech.edu/upcoming-year-cost-overview )
  18. Purdue BS Thoughts On Bobinski and GT

CPJ would absolutely get more than this if he wanted it. He's won a P5 conference and won 10+ games here a couple times. Brohm has won CUSA twice.
  19. Rumor Mills

You're both right, really. Frankly those low freshman retention rates were a sign of poor instruction as much as anything. A few of the Old Guard were still around when I started in 2004 (4 Horsemen of Calc, Physics 1&2, etc), and those guys were just abysmal teachers.
  20. What about the Wishbone at Oregon?

They don't really need it, and I think culturally they want a shotgun-based spread guy.
