I recall fans here and elsewhere giving Sewak plenty of criticism but I always thought he was simply coaching what CPJ told him to do. I always thought that was why Sewak was never fired...because he was coaching the OL exactly how CPJ wanted it coached.
+1. From the playcalling, I told my GF that "it looks like we've given up and are just trying to get some reps for guys", and that was in the 3rd qtr. It was reminiscent of CPJ's last year, when we were down 21 pts in the 4th qtr with under 10 mins to go and death-marching.
Strange - it sounds like you're a bit down that "we were +3 in turnovers and had near double digit sacks".
When that happens, esp. against a ranked team, it's a cause for optimism and positivity rather than continued reservation.
Possibly a Corner Turned. It was the most complete game on both sides of the ball since ... ?
- It was encouraging to see that the Clemson-game defense wasn't a fluke.
- Loved seeing the TOs generated.
- Encouraging to see the offense make improvements throughout the entire game.
- I think...
Plenty of people are being the same way here with no repercussion. No one is being banned for any negative behavior towards our current staff and players. It's appalling and hypocritical. Your attitude here pretty much sums it up.
Get over it. CPJ quit on us, is gone, and isn't coming back.
I remember when if you called for CPJ to be fired, you got banned. Now it's OK to do so for 68 pages because Collins isn't running the Saintly Triple Option? What a load of hypocritical nonsense.
Do you think CGC knew this was happening and said "To hell with 9/11 tributes - we have to warm up!"? Or perhaps he was unaware? The latter is certainly clueless but less malicious than the former. I honestly don't know.
the same way that teams with more talent, size, and speed could and did stop the TO under CPJ is the thought process I'm having.
KSU shouldn't be able to pull ANY death marches and their tiny DL should be blown off the LOS all afternoon. That's also the thought process I'm having.
It's...
you're right - I was just trying to think of a blowout game where the scheme couldn't beat the talent differential. Maybe 2018? Regardless, you understand what I'm saying here :)
So this game should be a bit like our worst CPJ team against one of the good P5 teams we played. Say, 2015 GT vs uga. Where our smaller-sized scheme just can't overcome the massive talent, size, and speed differential of the opposition.
If our OL can't pound tiny KSU into about 40+ points...
