    Syracuse Post Game

Notable stats: King had a higher completion % (74) than McCord (70). One key difference was that King's short passes to the flat usually resulted in a 3-4 yard gain, while McCords's were usually an 8-yard gain or better. Give Syracuse credit for being ready for us more than we were ready for...

    Analytics in Coaching

We’re arguing over marginal percentages in decision outcomes and calling the difference “egregious” and “colossal”. Y’all need to work on your superlatives. I suggest “Epic”.

TFG set the bar much lower. Once you set high expectations, a loss is more painful.

    Syracuse Post Game

Your alternative plan is so full of assumptions I don’t know where to start. My point is that all alternative plans or decisions resulted in a low probability of a win for us. We were outplayed on both sides of the ball most of the game. Credit to our special teams and Haynes King that we made...

Doing a free trial with YouTube TV now, after switching from DirecTV. Will probably stay with YouTube @ $73/mon for basically same lineup as DirecTV which was $114/mon.

Chad was listed as a walk-on for his freshman year (2023). Not sure if he has been awarded a scholarship yet, but he looks capable of earning one. Smart kid, had multiple Ivy League offers but chose Tech after originally committing to Army.

    Thoughts on Syracuse

I want to echo @BCJacket's and @SidewalkJacket's points about Cuse's bad tackling, and our speed on offense. Not a good combination if you are a Syracuse fan. I also watched the condensed game and thought their tacking was worse than ours in the BG game last year (if that is even possible). I...

Perhaps you misunderstood. The new rule requires the info to be made public within a certain time before each game.

I don’t think that this is about the SEC/B1G getting more eyeballs. From what I have read, they are simply trying to squash the distractions stemming from bettors/oddsmakers trying to get insider info.

    AP Ranking

I agree – early rankings are very much influenced by absolute W/L record, and teams that schedule a bunch of cupcakes on the front end have a good shot at breaking into the rankings even if they aren’t very good. Obviously we don’t do that, thus our streak.

    AP Ranking

Yep. When a ranking system starts with no pre-loaded W/L data, it can yield pretty crazy results for a few weeks. For the conspiracy theorists out there, this poll did not have FSU as a playoff team last year when they were 13-0. Some of the links to the archival data are broken or I would...

    AP Ranking

Read in The Athletic that, until yesterday, Tech held 3rd place for the longest unranked streak in the Power 4 - behind only Rutgers and Vandy. Edit: This seems implausible, but I'm not going to do the research to confirm it.

    FSU

What was Norvell thinking when he called for the 4th-and-long pass from a QB who had consistently failed to connect, down only one score in the third. They were in their own territory, with bad consequences for failure to convert. As it happened, the consequences were even worse than...

    AP Ranking

My theory on our 2016 failure to rank is that, despite beating 3 SEC teams in the same season, we seriously disappointed a lot of voters who in the prior season had ranked us highly after our 2014 performance. Sportswriters tend to have a lot of inertia, and reward teams that have consistency...

    Georgia State Post Game thread

Yeah, if you listen to King's post-game media, he said something along the lines of wanting to put it where Malik could catch it. Also, the pass was 45 yards in the air, if my memory serves me correctly.
