FWIW, my probably totally off base predictions
With Roy going this year
Boeheim and Larranaga go after next season.
K gone within 2-3 yrs.
Hamilton coaches at least 5 yrs longer. He seems like he is 72 going on 52.
Here is Matt Norlander's List for UNC

FWIW, I like the idea of giving Mark Few a call. Maybe he never leaves Spokane, but I sort of feel like...
ND would make a ton of sense.
Brey is 62 and has had a couple of mediocre years, if he had one next season I wonder if ND would be ready to make a change.
Some of their fanbase is ready for a change now but they have said Brey is returning.
I do wonder if UNC already has a plan in place. It's hard to believe that Roy would retire without giving UNC a heads up and without helping with a transition.
if they got Beard that would be funny just because everyone assumes he is going to be TX's new coach within the next couple of days...
So the rumors about Roy were true.
I agree with you DTM about like most likely successors.
Of course, if I was UNC that is one of the premier jobs in the country - no worse than top5. I'd be willing to go outside family and see the best coach I could get because let's face it, neither Davis...
I'm guessing this is what Cuse is referring to. if this comes to pass it really does call into question what was going on behind the scenes at Syracuse this year.
If this does happen, even if they bring in some good transfers, it is really difficult to get kids in that program to play the 2-3...
Young won't even be a serious candidate at FSU when Hamilton retires. They will look much higher than that. Expect Andy Enfield or Dennis Gates to be far ahead of him on the list.
Young's main role is to recruit and he does it well. Stan Jones is the primary x's and o's asst on that staff which...
Two notes.
We will have the first NCAA Tournament champion from west of the Mississippi since Arizona in 1997, when Josh Pastner was a walk-on FR.
This is the first time in NCAA Tournament history that the Final Four teams are all from west of the Mississippi.
I got it wrong, Larranaga is 71. Leonard Hamilton is 72.
Coack K is 74, Boeheim 76, Roy 70.
Pastner remains the youngest coach in the ACC at 43. Pastner is closer in age to Buddy Boeheim than Jim Boeheim - by over a decade.
Right now the ages work out like this
Boeheim 76
Coach K 74
Hamilton...
If Syracuse brings in Jimmy Boeheim it makes me wonder if we could have 2 of the old guard coaches leave after next season. Having his 2 sons playing for him for 1 year would seem to be a really good way for Boeheim to go out at Syracuse. Though it will be interesting to see how Coach Boeheim...
FWIW, just saw this elsewhere and thought it was just an interesting note
Mike Woodson is the oldest coaching hire at a P5 basketball school since at least 1985 (that's how far back the guy researched).
Obviously the comparison here people want to make is to MI, but that is a pretty weak...
Interesting thoughts on how to handle the Sweet Sixteen going forward.
I like the idea of having the Sweet Sixteen games on Sat and Sun with Elite Eight on Mon and Tues. That does make alot more sense for fans and it does give each game room to breathe.
Not sure I like the idea of having the...
Yeah it is. If you are successful at a really high major, you stay a decade or more. How many coaches leave a top of a line P5 job after 5 years when they have been successful.
His entire career he never stayed more than 6 yrs at any job (Sixsers). He just always seemed to have a strong sense...
I think they will be right about where they were this year. I expect them to finish in the top 2-3 in the conference next year.
They lose guys every year and have guys to replace them every year. They have a 5*, 2 4* and a 3* coming in, plus they have Caleb Mills transferring in from Houston.
He spent 5 yrs at Kansas (83-84, 84-85, 85-86, 86-87, 87-88) and 4 at SMU. You can add the 2 yrs at UCLA as well. But that is 11 years out of a over 40 yr coaching career
I just see him as a pro coach that dabbled in college from time to time. He was successful in college, he just did not choose...
