Interesting read on how the changes to the transfer policies are likely to affect programs long term.

This is how I feel as well. I think we are likely to either get both back or neither back. I believe the odds for those 2 outcomes are higher than the odds of a split return.
AJC article on Jose

“(Alvarado is) going to get his information and decide if he’s coming back or not,” Pastner told the AJC. “Nothing’s changed. He’s been...
Explanation of the changes that allow players to hire an agent but retain eligibility.

The statement does sound more like he is likely to stay in then come back, but he didn't close the door completely.
He's...
Not currently.
If GT is in the market for a new HC for basketball in the next few years (which i'm hoping the program is succeeding to a point that this is not the case), there is not a GT alum I would consider as a possible HC at GT.
Gonzaga boards are saying Lloyd was expected to take the job and had a general agreement on terms last night but is now having 2nd thoughts about whether to take the job.
I mentioned this in the Usher return thread. My #1 thing for them returning would be to get a chance to have a more 'normal' Sr year. Both on the court and at school.
I suspect AZ will interview a number of candidates and it makes sense that Pastner would be one of them.
Whether he is there #1 choice or high on the list we have no idea.
I think he is going to get an extension no matter what this offseason. This might allow him to get an extra year, or a little more money with that extension.
I tend to think fans overrate the recruiting chops in terms of hiring assts for HC slots.
For example, CY didn't exactly tear it up at Ga Southern.
Jonas for all the deserved pub about him as a recruiter has to this point in his career been an assistant on exactly 1 NCAA Tourney team.
The...
Another BIG job opening. The obvious issue here though is you have no clue what sanctions the NCAA eventually comes down with and that may impact your ability to hire some top candidates.
Jonas (and his twin brother Jarvis) played at Western Carolina before transferring to UGA.
Jarvis is now an asst at Ga St. I wonder if Jonas gets the HC gig if he'll hire his twin brother as one of his assts.
One other note about the Hayes brothers - they could have been Jackets. Their father...
I don't want to root for them to come down to us. I want to root for us to move up to where they normally reside. That is better for us in 2 ways.
First, whether we like it or not conference perceptions rest partly on how well the 'premier' programs in a conference perform. If they underperform...
Final conference performance relative to seeding

Congrats to Baylor, a deserving winner. They didn't win a singlegame by less than 9 points the entire Tournament. They were clearly the best team in the Tournament this year.
Honestly it is just way too early to do any real potential rankings for next season, especially given how much turnover is likely to occur.
If the big 3 all decide to play professionally next year than GT is a bubble NCAA team. If all 3 return they should be Top 20 pre-season.
A number of the...
I'll say Hubert is not being set up for the same sort of initial sucess as Guthridge. UNC has been poor to mediocre the last 2 years and on paper doesn't have any incoming players likely to change that direction radically in the short term. Will see how this affects the players still on the...
