  1. ACC Discussion 2020-21

Jordan Goldwire is planning to use his extra year, but will transfer from Duke. Looks like they will use combo guards to cover the 1 spot next season, most likely DJ Steward and if they get his commit 5* Trevor Keels.
  2. ACC Discussion 2020-21

Caleb Love has announced he will return to UNC for his So season.
  3. Coaching Carousel 6 - You can't make everyone happy. You are not bacon.

What I find interesting about the Holtmann story is IN thinking it could pull a coach from OSU. I would consider OSU a better job than IN.
  4. Returning players for 2021-22

That's why they allowed the one year exception this year. But keep in mind the exception only is allowed if the player stays at the same school. Fans need to keep in mind that the NCAA is really just the schools themselves and it really can't do anything unless the schools want it to do...
  5. Coaching Carousel 6 - You can't make everyone happy. You are not bacon.

We'll have to see how it ends, but it feels like a donor stepping up to get rid of Miller has not really been a positive for IN. I don't think they were planning to get rid of Miller this year and I don't think they really had a plan ready to go to deal with it. With the way the dominoes have...
  6. Returning players for 2021-22

Yes that is what I am saying. i think most coaches believe not counting against the scholarship limits is a one time thing for this year's sr. Next year you are going to have to make decisions as a coach if a player wants to come back for an extra year as to whether you allow them back or use...
  7. Returning players for 2021-22

My comment on next year's sr is that the NCAA has not said they will not count against the scholarship limits if they decide to use that free year and I don't think they will be given that like this year's SR have.
  8. Walker Kessler leaving UNC?

He's not coming back to the state of GA. His final 6 in HS were Auburn, Cal, Duke, Gonzaga, MI and UNC. Notice it is mostly those schools that appear to be in the think of it again with Gonzaga considered the leader and MI, UVA, and Auburn as the chase group, Every school he is being...
  9. Coaching Carousel 6 - You can't make everyone happy. You are not bacon.

And that is something you have to think about if you hire a coach from VCU. Is the success more due to the coach or more due to the school. Every coach at VCU has had a winning record, all 12. VCU has a .650 winning percentage all time. The last 4 coaches to leave are Jeff Capel, Anthony...

I'm not worried about Pastner to anywhere right now. TX is going to open the checkbook for someone, they have so much money (not that that means they will hire the right guy - just they will spend alot of money). if I was a coach i'd probably take either of the TX or OK jobs before IN. Both of...

On the Pastner comment. He said before his back injury Meka was the best shot blocker and rebounder in practice and would have helped win games. i don't really think he would have played alot as a FR but he probably could have gotten some minutes as a small ball 5 (which is sort of what...
  12. Walker Kessler leaving UNC?

FWIW, Dan McDonald talks about Kessler in his column today. He implies that Gonzaga is probably the leader. He also mentions MI, Auburn, and UVA as realistic options. He says Duke and KY have called but are not likely to be major players. He does not mention UGA or GT.
  13. Coaching Carousel 6 - You can't make everyone happy. You are not bacon.

There are some whispers that Smart could be in play at Marquette (he is a WI native). That TX situation is pretty interesting. In 6 seasons Shaka has 3 NCAA appearences with an 0-3 mark and two 20 win seasons. Texas moves into a new arena after next season. So i expect if he does stay at TX he...

OK is a good job. That provides some real competition to IND in terms of where a high level coach may want to go.

  17. Returning players for 2021-22

You can transfer multiple times but the new rules are going to be you can transfer for 'free' (no sit out period) one time and then after that if you transfer you have to sit for a year before becoming eligible.
  18. Returning players for 2021-22

Thar initial news is better than i expected. Parham -back and the other 3 Sr and Devoe getting feedback but not committing themselves to leaving. That feels good to me. Frankly the only one likely to get feedback that they might be drafted is Moses.
