  1. Juanyeh

Returner while Thomas is hurt is now Brown and probably backed up by Jarrett
  2. Clemson Postgame

My experience and perspective on offense coaching against other teams with equal or less talent: You go into the game with plan A (your basic stuff), Plan B (open it up more with passes, reverses, outside runs), and Plan C (trick stuff, fake kicks, razzle-dazzle). Plan A works well early on and...
  3. Clemson Postgame

Tobias was one missed tackle away from breaking several big plays to keep drives alive, especially behind the LOS, where the Clemson super human rushers are so good. I think we would have seen a much different O outcome against normal teams. His passing however does have to drastically improve.
  4. Bright Spots

I saw the same. Several players have commented about his good performance in practice.
  5. Clemson Postgame

Add running out of the gun on short yardage as a big negative and you have a good list
  6. Clemson Postgame

    True
  7. Has the hype been humbled?

Late in the game I thought Bennett looked really good at OLB/DE?
  8. Clemson Postgame

We learned: That there should not be shotgun in the red zone, 3rd and two, or fourth and one. No pass rush, still. Pass pro blocking still needs a lot of work DL getting push around, no surprise. Inside LB play still not where we need it to be. Still cannot run back kickoffs from the goal line...
  9. We are in Clemson's heads

I surely hope we run a lot.
  10. TE Tyler Davis film

In an early CGC interview he said that T Davis was among the best if not the best player Temple faced all season.
  11. Brad Morgan done for medical reasons

I guess it depends on when you attended Tech. Maybe it was the six days a week grind, 8 o'clock Saturday classes, 3 to 6 Friday afternoon labs, mandatory 6 classes of phys ed, mandatory 7 AM ROTC without credit, and a class load of 6 and 7 classes each quarter to get out in 12. Not to mention...

  14. Coach Collins Does Away with Scout Team

I spent a couple of years as a "scrub" and it was a great education/learning experience from which to launch a coaching career. As a "scrub" you get to see and do it all, although sometimes from your back.
  15. Season Ticket Delivery

    Got Mine two days ago.
  16. Lucas Johnson eligibility (good news)

A lot of this is just insurance prep for something bad that might happen. It is another way to build depth. Getting the players aware of unexpected change just makes it easier to do if required later. This is just good coaching. It also livens up practice which can become dull from too much...
  17. Fall Camp Post Practice

I go to the games early primarily to watch warmups and catch glimpses of walk-ons and players not getting much attention. Last year as a WR I was consistently impressed with Byrne and had no idea he was also a QB. He was a really good looking athlete as a WR.
  18. Hey boys, you guys might enjoy this (you might not)

My two cents: For the O to be successful the O COACH should understand it completely and be the GURU (CPJ) The COACH should be able to teach it to the players and his assistants. The players should be able to learn it and execute it. The O should be versatile enough to take advantage of what the...
  19. Saturday scrimmage at Pope HS

Actually having walk-ons getting PT is an indication that were are making good decisions (at least with the preferred walk-ons) recruiting and coaching up the players. I also believe CPJ had somewhat of a pecking order for practice reps and so far CGC is getting everybody lots of looks. I see...
