  1. Fall Camp Post Practice

Center is a strange situation. Cooper was moved early to guard and Lee to D and a rotational group was used in the Spring Game. Last Saturday at least 5 centers were used including a majority of walk-ons which included Lay. Under Collins I have seen at center S Morgan and walk-ons Lagod, Aycock...
  2. Fall Camp Post Practice

Agree. So far the only positives I see in the line play is we have more and better bodies and the coaches seem inclined to rotate more players. This could at least mean more wide open effort since there should not be a "pacing" in the effort.

He practiced OL in practice Saturday
  4. Fall Camp Post Practice

From the coach's answers we can usually figure out the question. If the coach would first repeat the player's name (when the question is about a specific player) and then go on to address the question then we would not be in so much dark and confusion about who? This could be easily fixed.
  5. Dave Patenaude’s vision for Georgia Tech offense clarifying

Some TE motion and on running plays up the middle Tyler Davis in motion was helping make some big holes. Practice looks a lot like the Spring Game with so much subbing the teams seem to be dominated by walkons and freshmen everywhere. Lots of reps and chaos from my viewpoint. Obvious playmakers...
  6. Jordan yates

In a 50%run pass attack Lucas is the safest bet today. If we want to run 65% plus I would lean to a tag team of Oliver and Graham. I hope we RS Yates. He is going to be good. We were in throw mode today (maybe more for the fans) and that favors Lucas. In a real game at this point in the team's...
  7. Fall Camp Post Practice

This freshman class is looking good. From the pure freshmen group I would add Yates, D Knight, Z Owens, T Amerson, and D Ellison. TE D Deveney is likely another. I likely missed some WRs and DBs and I cannot yet tell anything about the OL and DL. There are some walk-ons out there doing a good...
  8. Jordan yates

Actually when there is no pressure all six QBs (Byrne, Lantz, Yates, Graham, Oliver, and Johnson) deliver a similar ball. Byrne and Lantz are not runners and I doubt Johnson would hold up long getting belted. Graham looks good throwing on the run and Johnson looks good making decisions to dump...
  9. Dave Patenaude’s vision for Georgia Tech offense clarifying

Pass rush was off and on, mostly only on when we blitzed or jumped the snap. At one point in practice there was a group on the south end of the field doing 7 on 7 and a comparable group on the north end doing 7 on 7 and a group in the middle which soon caught and kept my attention. It was an O...
  10. Fall Camp Post Practice

Jamious made a great effort diving catch at one point which was probably in the top three of outstanding plays of the day. He did not as you say get much other action beyond that and the late TD pass to him in the right flat when he was not covered by the D..
  11. Fall Camp Post Practice

Agree. I heard in one of the long lines I was in that practice (closed) actually started at 9:00. Even though we were told that Gates to enter the stadium would be open at 9:30 we did not get in until 10:10. Apparently the "show" for the fans started at 10:00 but more not for the public practice...
  12. FAN DAY ROLL CALL

Fan Day had some good and bad issues but overall it was another good event for us fans, especially the ability to see some of the practice. The good: Good weather Good crowd behavior Great player enthusiasm and demeanor Good organization at the player tents Great opportunity to see an upbeat...
  13. FAN DAY ROLL CALL

Myself, daughter (GT grads), son-in-law (Miss), and Grandson (sidewalk GT and Ole Miss fan) will be there. Can't wait see see all the new faces from closer up. I am especially happy to see the practice.
  14. Deep From The “What If?” Drawer

The best chance to win is to shorten the game (limit the plays Clemson has). Play ball control and run the clock. Nothing frustrates a great team expecting to win more than to not let them have the ball and build up the expected lead. We will get blown out in a high scoring shoot out. I agree...
  15. Demetrius Knight listed as LB

Solid down the road at OLB and probably at WLB but we need playmakers at MLB.
  16. Golden Ticket Sweepstakes

    3 and 5 especially.
  17. Coaching Acumen of the New Staff...

Depends on the O moving the sticks in short yardage and scoring TDs in the red zone and the D getting off the field on third and long. Can't do the O stuff in the gun. IMO. I have hopes for improvement overall in the D with the pressing coverage. Blitzes need that coaching help (disguising and...
  18. Question

I did hear in a CGC press conf that an ATL goal was to eventually get half the team above the line (50-55 0r so players). That gets 2 strings and more than half the 3rd stringers, more or less. With fast play we probably see more WRs, RBs, and CBs than 3 deep and only 2 deep at OL or less...
  19. Spring Game Postgame Thread

Not much wind down low but at flag level you could see a lot of wind. Harvin gets his kicks way up.
  20. Spring Game Postgame Thread

Cottrell was in shorts and holding up the what may have been the play call banner on the sidelines. Also in shorts Gantt, Benson, Gibbs, and at least 3 others. Johns was on a knee scooter. The others were walking around without a visible cast. T Davis and T Oliver also did not play but I did not...
