  1. Film Room USF vs GT

I watched the game in person and then 3 times on film. We definitely looked better on film so as the week has progressed I am more encouraged. Hats off to the D coaches for such a drastic turnaround. Expert use of personnel. Now O coaches, especially QB, OL, and WR, it is your turn and I...
  2. Wesley Wells

I like to come early to the games and watch all the warmups. For what it is worth King was kicking off much longer than Wells in warmups, enough that I noticed and I wondered if Wells was 100%. Wells was also attempting kicking much shorter field goals warming up. CGC is MUM about injuries so...
  3. Week over week improvement

Based on our coverage history I am worried about any returner. As a rule of mine I would never kickoff to the other team's best returner. We have a choice who returns and they do not. Take advantage.
  4. Week over week improvement

Until we get a consistent Butker type kickoff DO NOT kick to their best returner!
  5. Week over week improvement

O !/2 dozen + options QB to Tobias or RB per game heavy weight short yardage and red zone pkg (2 or 3 TE types) Tobias in the game somewhere as much as possible On third down when passing do not throw short of the sticks for a first down When chased out of the pocket do not run backwards and...
  6. GT (-34) vs. The Citadel

Looks about 6 degrees cooler at this point.
  7. Offensive and Defensive coordinators

When you are struggling to run basic stuff it just looks like a waste to spend time on a gimmick. It smacks of desperation rather than confidence. .
  8. Charlie Thomas: ACC LB of the Week

And when the chase began Henderson was a good 15 yards behind and with great effort caught up .
  9. Any info on OL injuries?

If injuries are bad enough and players are willing both Hansen and Cooper have RS opportunities.
  10. Heat Index and game time - NCAA

I (and the players and coaches) do not want to be the victim of cancelled games but am in favor of scheduling later afternoon and night games in hot weather.
  11. Offensive and Defensive coordinators

I generally do not like 4 yard passes because of risk/reward. (first one was incomplete and stopped our drive. Second one was caught and fumbled for a turnover) A long pass in that situation may be worth the risk. I prefer to get the first down and then do whatever on the next play first down. I...
  12. Offensive and Defensive coordinators

You cannot always tell on pass plays but on something like second and one and he calls a pass for 4 yards (incomplete), that is a call. Gimmicks and shotguns on the goal line are calls.
  13. Offensive and Defensive coordinators

I am willing to give the O coordinator some time and maybe he really needs it, but my biggest frustrations are: Playing 3 QBs is not the reason we are not throwing many passes downfield, did not make a first down from second and one yard to go, did not score anything from the 3 yard line with...
  14. USF Postgame #USFvsGT

A more realistic comparison is points and yards per play, not total points and yards. The CPJ O shortened the game and helped the D statistically in total yards and scores.
  15. How Tech plans to use its QBs against South Florida ...

I doubt there is much difference, especially if you play to the whistle as you should. My guess is pass blocking is a little more fatiguing but I never played on the OL..
  16. Roster Updates - ATL and Captains #USFvsGT

Simmons changed the whole trajectory of the game IMO. Oliver will do much better (if he gets another chance) against SF.
  17. Roster Updates - ATL and Captains #USFvsGT

Maybe Owen started at DE last week and he is slated to play DT this week?
  18. We are going to smoke South Florida

My concern (which nobody is talking about) is the Bulls play last year where we force the QB out of the pocket and he runs for whatever he needs, over and over. That is my memory of our defeat last year. I hope we have a new plan to stop that play.
  19. Clemson Postgame

Anyway J Thomas let the Clemson player distract him. It is a learning experience and something he can be aware of and work on. Too bad it was such a big play in the game.
  20. Offensive Game Plan

My biggest concern about the game plan was using the gun in the red zone and critical short yardage. Every Saturday we see teams start first and ten inside the 5 and wind up with zip points. A good O needs the ability to get short yardage to score and to keep drives alive. Then you can have a 4...
